Welcome to New Friends

Just a quick post today, to welcome the new followers to my blog. I hope you all enjoy reading my ramblings and pop by often, it's always lovely to hear from people with similar interests in BJD's and other collectible dolls. Makes one feel like they are not alone in this crazy, sometimes upside down world of ours.
I have been knitting Alejandra's jumper these last few days and finally finished it today. It's on it's way to her now. :)

Still waiting for my faceplate to arrive, that's the worst of doing things around Christmas time, it seems to take forever for the mail to get through. I also have a few things coming from China (see the backdrops above) and Thailand that were posted nearly three weeks ago, that still haven't arrived and I am getting really antsy. I know they have been posted, but I wanted to use the backdrops to photograph my Mori Kei outfits.

Speaking of Mori Kei outfits. I was hoping to post some in my new store, but then I thought maybe it would be best if I sew several outfits first, then spend a whole day just doing a long photo session . . . that way I probably wouldn't waste as much time. Then I could list them all together, giving people a choice of outfits. What are your thoughts?

Oh and just in case you were unaware, I have a special deal running through December.

  1. I hope your faceplate arrives soon! I'm looking forward to see your Mori Kei outfits, will they be MSD size (my Asa wants to know ;-D)? Choice would be wonderful, can't wait! xx

    1. Hi Night Owl,
Oh me too, I keep checking the tracking, but the PO hasn't updated since receiving it! I am using my Volks SD13, Luts Kid Delf and IH KID's as models, so I would say the Luts KD should fit your Asa? I am going to have to make up a chart of measurements for them as a guide. In saying that, most of the Mori Kei styles are loose fitting, so the designs will probably allow some leeway in the fit. :)

  2. Those backdrops look lovely and so perfect for mori style! I hope you get them soon and same for your face plate! Christmas is a tricky time of the year for postal service, but packages get to their destination in the end, no doubt!

Thanks for being so nice, I'm surprised at how fast you worked, hope it didn't become a problem to you

    1. Hi there!
There is another that I couldn't post, which is a larger backdrop for the SD size, and it was difficult to choose as there were so many lovely ones. However, I'm sure these will do nicely.
Patience isn't something I am known for when it comes to parcels and people, although I have heaps of patience when it comes to four legged friends. :)
No problem, I just concentrated on what I was doing and knitted my little pinkies off! LOL!

  3. I have to agree, this hobby, as big as it is, can and often does feel quite lonely. I, for one am really glad to have come across your blog and a fellow Australian to boot!

Fingers crossed everything you've ordered will arrive soon. With Thai Post, I have found things tend to be really really slow from there. I've ordered a few things from Thailand myself and it took anywhere from 4-6 weeks. And China Post I've noticed the last few times has been a lot slower than usual too. I don't know what's going with the postal services around the world lately!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the backdrops when you get them. I've been eyeballing a few backdrops myself but haven't ordered anything yet.

The Mori Kei outfits sound interesting. I think, do what you feel comfortable with. If you want to list one at a time, that's OK.

Also am in awe that you knit. I tried but failed. I think I'm more of a crochet girl.

    1. Hi Alasse!

I love using the backdrops because I have a problem getting down on the floor (once I am down, it's very difficult for me to get up LOL). I have 9 that suit the smaller dolls and 4 for the SD size, so will bring my total up to 16, GAWD I didn't realise that till I just counted them!

I love doing anything with my hands, been sewing and knitting for years, I can crochet too, but not well. Actually I wasn't sure about knitting in 2ply until I tried, it takes a bit of getting used to the fine yarn, but I am enjoying it.

    3. Thank you for the link! I think I have come across that shop before and it might have even been the one I was looking at for backdrops.
