Just What I Needed

Thanks Dustbunnie! I needed that info you emailed like a hole in the head. It appears Fairyland is coming up with some new temptations which should be released in October. My first impulse was wow! Then I looked at the tail on the larger doll and thought maybe not, but one sweet lady on DOA brought it to my attention that the larger one looked like a Seahorse and the little one a Mermaid. Then my heart sank, how on this earth am I ever going to afford both?

Still I have managed to do a little more on my fairy, but of course she does need a proper face up and the hair was a complete experiment ~ I glued mohair curls straight on to a silicone cap.

I finished the dress last night from Broderie Anglaise and Guipure lace that I purchased earlier in the day from Spotlight, then I made a circlet out of two toned pink paper flowers. The shoes I already had in my stash, but I'm not sure if they will stay.

  1. Oh my gosh, I am super curious about how CP will turn that into doll form. I'm particularly intrigued by the tail on both of these. I don't know why but it brought to mind The Little Mermaid.

Your girl looks so adorable. I love her colour scheme. The hair looks great, I love the crown of roses she has and that dress is a lovely design.

    1. Oh yes, Alasse I remember that book too!

Thank you! I think I'm about to change my teapot elves to fairies. I'm so hung up on those flower fairies of Cicely Mary Barker at the moment I can't think straight :)

    1. Oh don't worry Musume if I like them when I see them in resin, I'll find a way. Even if I have to ask hubby to buy them for Christmas, I think the timing might work in quite well actually. :)
Thank you. I'm happy with her, but the wig looks better in the photo than it does IRL.

  3. I just didn't want my bank account to be the only one to suffer from what Fairyland does. Muahahahaha . . . ehhh I mean I'm so sorry.
Your Soso is SO CUTE. The dress is adorable and I like her wig and the flowers. Most of all I adore the wings. They are so beautiful.

    1. Well Lene I am often reminded by a friend of mine that "there are no pockets in shrouds" so we may as well enjoy what little we have eh?
Thank you. <3 You will love your wings too when you get them, they are so delicate and I love the way the light catches them and makes them glisten.

  4. Wow, your fairy is so cute!!!!! I love her look.
I think Fairyland is just an organization invented to strip us of our money. I know that I will be in debt with them for many years! They just don't stop producing the most amazing dolls.

Yes, I can hardly wait to see them, now I know there's a seahorse and a mermaid coming I'm beginning to get a little impatient, sometimes it's best not to know. :)

Thanks, it's quite simple to make, thanks to a little bit of florist tape. :)

  8. Hi Sandi!

OMG, that teaser looks amazing! The Seahorse idea is great as usually all sea creatures made in resin are mermaids, which I love as well. Hope you can finally afford both if you like them when the dolls are made in resin.

Your little fairy is lovely! I love the crown of roses and her dress is beautiful.

    Greetings ^^

    1. Hi Lily!
I imagine it holds quite wide appeal, there seems to be a lot waiting to see it in resin. It's a bit of a bummer that FL don't have layaway, as doing it through DDE works out more expensive due to their postage rates. I'm going to sell some more things on eBay to see if I can save some money.

Thank you, she still needs a little work, but I am happy with the dress.
