Season's Greetings

Christmas in Australia is celebrated during our summer months, often in between bushfires and summer rain. There's no white Christmas or log fires for us, even though our Christmas cards and traditions usually depict those of the colder climates.

We have the traditional Christmas trees, Santa, carols and gifts, but our Christmas dinner may be a barbecue or seafood feast in the backyard, or a picnic on a beach, with cold beer instead of eggnog and pavlova instead of plum pudding.

Christmas is also a time for reflection, a time for friends and family, so I would like to say ~ thank you for keeping me company this year and no matter where you are in this wide world of ours, I wish you Peace, Happiness, Good Health and may all your Christmas dreams come true.

  1. I do have to admit, I sometimes dream of a white Christmas, especially being up in North Qld where it is summer all year 'round.

Wishing you and your family a safe and happy Christmas.

    1. Haha sometimes the grass may seem greener Alasse, but with the White Christmas comes the freezing cold, and the slush after he snow melts, but I do understand how the romance of a White Christmas can capture one's heart. :)

      Hugs,

  8. Merry Christmas to you!

Hey, if it makes any difference, my part of the US has had warm, stormy weather and tornadoes on or near Christmas for the last several years. So it's more like Spring in the US Plains states than anything like winter.

  10. As a child every Christmas I used to receive the Teddy Bear Annual and one year inside the front cover it showed the Teddy Bear family celebrating Christmas in the UK with jumpers and log fires, eating their traditional Christmas dinner. Inside the back cover was another family celebrating their Christmas 'down under'! I was sooo fascinated to see them picnicing in the beach in their swimsuits! Now I live in southern Spain and the weather this Christmas, our first in the 11 years that we've lived here that we are actually at the coast, is lovely! Very warm and sunny during the day but colder at night.....and I love it! I can finally relate to that Australian Teddy Bear family LOL!! Have a great one and thank you for sharing your beautiful work with us! Big hugs Sharon in Spain xxx

Here in Barcelona (Spain) neither have a white Christmas. These last days have been pretty warm and it's not normal, we're all wondering when cold will come XD

    Greetings ^^
