Linen for My Diorama

I finished making the mattress, doona (duvet/continental quilt) and sheet set for the bed yesterday.

I used some wool batting measured and cut to fit inside the bed, several layers thick and just tacked together to form the mattress base, then I covered it with the stripe fabric. The doona cover I made like a pillow case so it can be taken off and changed and I inserted a single layer of batting inside the cover.

The batting was left over from a quilt I made some years ago, the fabrics and lace were all from my stash, so no cost involved here, just a little sewing time.

Here's Dotty Dinosaur all tucked up waiting for the arrival of a tired little PukiFee.

Can you guess which PukiFee this bedroom belongs to?

  1. I definitelly can't guess, I tend to lose track of your tinies, they are all super lovely and I do have a few favorites, but I'm not familiar with all haha

Love what you have done so far!

  2. Oh wow Xanadu. You did an absolutely amazing job. I really love the fabric choices for this wonderful bedding set. Then again, you always have a knack for choosing just the right fabric for the things you make.

I keep thinking I should do that for the one tiny bed I have downstairs that hubby made for me ... but that was for the realpuki dolls when I used to have them (I sold them on) and now the bed is too small for anyone else.

    1. Hi Alasse,
Thanks, not perfect, but certainly okay for dolls and I am happy with the colours in the fabrics as it picks up the colours of the furniture.

Hey it can always be a toy bed for one of your bigger
girls. Sometimes you just have to put things in perspective. :)

  3. This is lovely! I always admire anyone who puts together a whole little room setting for their dolls, and wish I did the same....I'm not sure if I'm too lazy or I give up easily but I never seem to get around to it and my excuse is I can never find the props I need here in Spain's dolly wilderness! (My excuse and I'm sticking to it!) Anyway, the duvet is lovely, a pretty set of prints for a little PF...I'm sure she's going to love it!
You asked about any recommendations for printable minis so I went and looked at the one I always used called Jim's Printable Mini's but it is no longer available. I know that when I needed some brickwork paper I just did a search and found some great ones, so maybe that's the way to go. But I will look again and see what I can find.
Thank you for giving me the blog award, I will get to it within the next few days!
Big hugs Sharon in Spain xxx

    1. Thanks Sharon. I have so much fabric I could start a shop, so it wasn't any trouble putting that together. I'm sure you could do just as well.

I'm still looking, but concentrating on the walls at present. I know I will find what I'm looking for eventually.

You're welcome, I will look forward to reading your answers.

  5. Hello Sandy,
Great work! Everything is perfectly scaled and finished. Sloppy seems and stitches often ruin pieces in miniature, but these look real life. Dotty looks so comfortable.
    Big hug

    1. Hi Giac,
Don't you just hate things that aren't finished properly? I know I do, nothing worse than raw edges and unfinished seams, they make things look so tacky.

Yes, Dotty is quite comfy and I thought this afternoon I might just join her. :)
