It was a beautiful sunny day in Melbourne today, so hubby and I decided to go out for lunch. On the way back we called into IKEA to pick up a new pillow. Well as most of you who have been to IKEA already know, it's very difficult to leave there with just one purchase. :)
Going through the children's section is always a trap, this time I was caught by the "Spexa" room book. If you haven't seen one yet then it's time for an IKEA visit.
This is just one section . . . the cover. I will post more pics down the track of the inner sections. My only complaint is it's high gloss, but it hasn't come up too badly in these pics. What do you think girls? I didn't think it was a bad purchase for AU$9.99.
The table and chair is from IKEA too and the food is from a pack of tiny erasers.
I so need to visit an Ikea store! Just for doll furniture!
ReplyDeleteI think the backdrop looks quite good. You can't tell that it's glossy. And the girls look like they are enjoying their lunch.
That hamburger looks so real! I didn't even know they had food erasers. The things they come up with these days.
Hi Alasse,
DeleteYes, you do. A trip to Brissy is a must! :)
The erasers can be found at places like Wooja, Daiso or other Asian variety stores. You just have to keep your eyes open, I've found lots of bits and bobs in them.

Oh wow that room book fits perfectly for small dolls! (^w^) IKEA is indeed a dangerous place for your wallet! We went to buy another Detolf-shelf from there the other day and ended up buying a lot more than just the shelf... XD
ReplyDeleteHi Janina, I can't help myself, I always check the kids dept. but it's reassuring to know I'm not the only one who gets bitten by the IKEA bug. :)

That room loos so cute! And it fits perfectly your girls!!
ReplyDeleteI wish there was an IKEA near my city T_T
Hi Musume! Be careful what you wish for. :) IKEA can quickly eat your doll money. LOL!

Hello Sandy,
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever left Ikea with just one thing. The room box is lovely. what a great scene for your little family.
Big hug
Giac
Yes, it's very good marketing Giac, you've got to hand it to them there! :)

The background is super cute @o@ I wish we had an Ikea over here T_T;;; I also adore them!
ReplyDeleteDo they have an IKEA back home Irene?
DeleteThis look great!!! Same as Musume, there's no IKEA here haha, it would be nice to have one though
ReplyDeleteDidn't realized it was glossy until you pointed it out, but yeah it looks a bit glossy haha, still very nice :)
Oh that's a pity, but better for your dolly budget! :)
DeleteIt's not too bad though Alejandra, I just need to take the photo from the right angle and I can get away with it.

Hi Sandi!
ReplyDeleteThis book is my wishlist. Someday I'll get it and play with it, lol. It looks perfect with your girls and the IKEA chair and table.
Greetings ^^
Yes, it's perfect for PukiFees and Lati Yellows and not too expensive either, which is nice. :) Hope you do get it Lily.

I saw this a couple of weeks ago and never thought about it for my dolls as I was looking for the bedroom set, which they had on display but not on the shelves for some reason. It seems to work well with the tinies despite the shine, in fact it doesn't really look shiny at all in your photos.
ReplyDeleteI like the little table and chairs too, I've not seen those in there either. I just have the lounge set which is being used by my Elfdoll tinies.
xxx
I wouldn't be surprised if they had sold out of the furniture Sharon, you have a large BJD following in Spain so I should imagine those with tiny dolls would have snapped them up.
DeleteThe table and chair is from the bedroom set. It's good that both sets can be mixed and matched.

It looks great Sandi and I'll look out for it on our next visit to Ikea. Thing is with Ikea it's such a long way to walk through you have to make a purchase to make it worth it and I always leave with a bag full of candles and T-lights too ^_^ (and those cinnamon donut thingys) !!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carolyn, I don't mind the walk, it's a great way for me to get a bit of exercise in!! LOL! Are you talking about those cinnamon scrolls that you just pop in the oven? I love them, they are so yummy.

Cute!
ReplyDeleteThe table and chairs are tempting me to pop into my local Ikea - that place is always chaotic, but it might be worth it for the cuteness of that furniture. :)
Be careful JS, you might come away with more than you bargained for. LOL!

Ahh, this is adorable. Unfortunately there are no IKEAs anywhere near me so I have never been inside one. This is probably really good for my wallet, but I am always amazed at the cute stuff they have!
ReplyDeleteOh yes Farrah, very good for your wallet. It's a trap for sure, ask anyone who's been to an IKEA store, they will all agree it's impossible to come out of there with only what you intended to purchase! LOL!

Now I have an urge to visit Ikea! *__* It has a design that reminds me of a Scandinavian summer cottage, it also is like one of the houses in our common (old) sayings: "Red house/hut, and a potato field" that is said to be a dream house for a Finn. :'''D
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tips, your girls look so cute in this! <3
I just checked, here the price is about 5€! : D
Hi Uraru,
DeleteHey that sounds reasonable, I hope it is. :) I want to take some more photos of the inside, but not today I'm afraid, it's almost dinner time.
