Exploring the Japanese Gardens

This week the weather has been fine, so Emmaline and her big sister Lonnie have taken a day trip on the bus, to visit the Japanese Gardens, which are in the next village.

Emma: I think we ought to go this way, see there's a Cherry blossom tree.
Lonnie: No we are going to the Tea Room, it's this way. Now take my hand and hold that ball tightly.

Emma: Ooops! I dropped it.
Lonnie: I do wish you would be more careful Emma. You're lucky it didn't roll all the way down this hill. Honestly, I don't know why you brought that soccer ball with you!

Emma: Don't worry Lonnie, I'll pick it up.

Lonnie: Well hurry up then, or we will miss the Tea Ceremony.
Emma: Okay, okay, gosh you are being an old bossy boots today!

~ oOo ~

I shan't be around much this week as hubby and I have plans. Don't worry though, like Douglas MacArthur, I shall return! Hope you have a good one!

  2. I love this little excerpt. I've always been quite curious about Tea Ceremonies. I have seen them on documentaries but have never experienced one for myself. Would love to one of these days!

Enjoy the week with hubby! Sounds like you have some rather exciting plans.

    1. Me neither Alasse, but they always look interesting. Though I doubt if they'd get me back off the floor if I did attend one. LOL!

    1. Hi Musume! Plans are coming along well thank you. I've had Lonnie and Irene for a long time and have always thought I should get another KID, but never quite found the right one to add until recently. Haven't ordered her yet, but she's on my wishlist.

    1. Thank you Uraru. :) Emma's hat is an oldy but a goody, I usually use it for that Steampunk look, but not in this photo.
Hope you're having a lovely week too.

  6. Very cute!

Do you have the backdrop angled here? I keep trying to figure out how you manged to give it such a look of depth (it's another great one, by the way)! :)

    1. Thanks JS. No angling, just the way the backdrop is photographed. I like them when they sort of lead you into the picture, but there's not enough of them unfortunately.

  8. These two work so well together, they really look like sisters...so cute! I had a Lonnie and like yours, she was lovely, I sometimes wonder why I sold her! But I'm sure there was a good reason at the time!
    Have a great time xxx

    1. I hadn't thought to put them together, it just sort of worked out that way. :) Often the best things happen by accident, well they do with me. LOL!
Hope you are enjoying your week.

    1. Hello Giac,
Thank you, but this time I didn't make them, most of the clothes are from Iplehouse.

  10. Hi Sandi,
That backdrop is very beautiful, I love the depth optical effect of it. And your girls look adorable, as usually.

    1. Thanks Lily. I wish RaiHing would do a few more with a similar depth, as it makes the backdrop look more real.
