Show and Tell

Well it's almost been two weeks since I posted anything, the longest gap between posts I've ever had. Aside from it being a busy time for me, I have been feeling quite anti social. I blame it on the weather, it's been cold, wet and horribly windy, which does absolutely nothing to tempt me out of the house, or provide me with any incentive for photography. However, I am, as you can see, still alive and kicking, and today I have some goodies to share with you.

Firstly my Monet (DC Larry), who arrived some time back. Can't wait for a good MSC day to get started on him.

Then I received all this lovely fabric (yes, I know, I've been naughty again) to make some more clothes for Polkadots and Rainbows.

Yesterday Momoko (IH Ah-Ra) arrived, her name 桃子 means peach child.

And today my order of wigs (added a couple of cheapies) and shoes from Luts, was a bit disappointed the lilac ones didn't come with laces though.

After realising that the DZ head I ordered a several weeks ago wouldn't fit the neck of my SD13 body, I finally found a head that will. It's a Volks SD-DWC #3  head in pure skin, which is what the body is. Although the body is somewhat aged, I thought a good spa treatment will at least make it clean again.

I'm not overly happy with the black line in the mouth, and she is probably not to everyone's liking, but I think the face up by Tsuki Neko Atelier (Uchan on DOA) will suit one of my Steampunk girls very well.

I have a wig that will fit the head, perhaps not the right colour, however, it will do until I find the right one. I'd really like something that will suit the period and support a hat properly.

Well my lovelies, it's back to "work" for me, there's a lot to keep me busy for quite some time, have a safe Friday 13th and a wonderful weekend.

P.S. You may or not have noticed I have reorganised my Magical & Fantasy dolls all in The Elvin Forest. :)

  1. Wow so many goodies, congrats!!!
Your new dollies are awesome, can't wait to see Monet painted :3
I'm not a fan of the black line between lips, or the black dots at the corners, but I think she has a lovely faceup.
Please, do post about the body's cleaning/de-yellowing process! I would love to see it!
And I can't wait to see what you'll sew with those lovely fabrics!

    1. Hi Musume,
Thank you. I really wanted to start on Monet as soon as I received him, but the weather has been against me, but hopefully this afternoon I will get a coat of MSC on him so I can at least begin. :)
I'm not sure how I will go with the spa process, some of those on DOA make me nervous. EEK!!
I started on two pairs of overalls last night, I'm hoping to photograph them on Sunday.

  2. Hello Sandy,
What a great post. I can't wait to see Monet transformed. He is a wonderful figure. The fabrics you got are lovely as well as the great accessories. I quite like the Volks head. The black line doesn't bother me. It has a much more dramatic look then other pieces you own, but is still lovely.
    Big hug

    1. Hi Giac,
Yes he certainly will be transformed, not like a normal snail in the least. :)
The head is quite striking and I agree not like my other dolls at all, but I really needed this particular doll to look dramatic.

    1. Thank so much Nikki. What are your plans, are you going to do the face-up yourself, do you have a body for your DWC02? I will look forward to seeing this on your blog. :)

    2. I don't know about doing the face-up yet. If I found one with a nice face-up, I wouldn't mind keeping it. :) And yes, I do have a body ready for her. An April Story Senior girl body (old version).

    3. Are you on DOA? There have been a few with face ups come up there, maybe you will be lucky like me. I hope so, I'd like to see how it looks on an AS body. :)

  5. Congrats on all the new arrivals! Adore all the new resin and that face up on the Volks head is amazing. I like how bold it is and can't wait to see her in all her steampunk goodness.

The fabric prints all look quite interesting. Will look forward to see what you create with those.

  6. Hi Sandi!
So many arrivals, congrats! I can't wait to see Monet in his face-up and I like the face-up of that Volks head despite that black line in the mouth. Will she be a Steampunk girl? Sure she will look fabulous!
    Greetings ^^

    1. Hi Lily,
I've been a little spoilt this week with the parcels, but it helped to get me out of the doldrums.

  9. Hi Sandy - looking forward to seeing what u do with Monet !
I'm currently trying out Vallejo Matt Varnish instead of MSC on my Pano's legs. I'm following Xhanti's video on Jointed Love. Thought I'd give it a go as it is water based and non toxic too ^_^ xx

    1. Hi Carolyn,
I must look into that myself, but I will use up my MSC first. Xhanthi is always so generous with her tutorials, I have learnt a lot from them myself. :) Can't wait to see your results.
