What's a girl to do when she has this much 8ply wool in her stash? And this is just half of it! I have another box just like this stowed in my doll room.
Well with winter slowly creeping in, I thought this might keep me occupied in the evenings while I snuggle up in my comfy chair and watch my favourite TV programmes.
I figured I need to do four hundred and thirty two of them to complete a Granny Square throw rug. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it, along with a lot of patience (not my strongest attribute) to get this project finished.
432!!! omg x.x that's some patience and perseverance you will need there, I send you all the luck and strenght, the finished product will be amazing!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week~
Thanks Alejandra, I didn't think about how many I would have to make before I began. It wasn't till I measured a rug I already have and realised I needed 18 across the width and 24 down the length. So far I've managed to do 14 in three nights, with luck I may have it finished by the end of winter. :)

Omg, so many! But it'd look so lovely and amazing when you finish! I hope you keep it up ~!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it sounds like a monumental amount doesn't it? I hope I can keep it up too Irene, I really need to do something with all this wool. :)

432 is a lot of them!! But I bet it will look awesome one you are finished! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm about to suffer winter as well T_T
I know Musume, but I actually managed to do nine this evening, so I'm getting quicker, now I have 23. Maybe I will be able to have it finished BEFORE the end of winter.

Good luck with the project! That looks like a lot of work, but the end result will undoubtedly be fabulous! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you JS, it's not really work yet as they are easy to do in front of the TV, but sewing all the squares together will be I'm sure. :)

Good luck :D It's an awesome project!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nikki. I hope it turns out the way I imagined before I began :)

Those granny squares look great, I hope you can finish it because it'll be great once it's done.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of making a quilt as I have a ton of fabric....I wonder if I'll ever get it done though!!!

Thank you Sharon, I seem to be plowing through these balls pretty quick, so I'm just hoping I have enough of these earthy colours to complete it.
DeleteI think you'll use up a lot of it if you keep making your doll clothes, though a quilt might be a good project to have along side. :)

I'm envious of your winters down there. We get a hint of it here but not real winter although I am hoping it will be different this year.
ReplyDeleteAnd great job so far on the granny squares! I only need 25 for my bag but I still only have ever made 5. I'm so slack with crochet these days. Can't wait to see it completed!
It's been quite mild here so far Alasse, but of course we are still in Autumn. I never look forward to winter though, I really don't like the rain and wind at all, and I find grey skies quite depressing and just want to hibernate through winter like a bear!!
DeleteMaybe I can inspire you to finish your bag? I have done 50 of mine now :)
