Don't know where the year is going to, it's just disappearing so fast!! I thought I would take a little time out to re-organise my doll room and it has simply taken ages. I'm still not happy with it or anywhere near completing everything I had planned to do (but more on that later).
I have however, managed to slip another little doll into my basket. Well she's not so little, at 50cm/ 19.5" she's the tallest of my play dolls. I quite liked the 2017 edition of this Gotz doll, but wasn't keen on her having a fringe (bangs) so I had to do some hunting around to find last year's release. Fortunately, I found one in Melbourne at a reasonable price, so I shan't have the wait that would usually accompany an order for a doll and she should arrive later this week.
I'm looking forward to sewing for this gal as soon as I bring my new overlocker (serger) home. I am so lucky to have a hubby that likes to spoil me, he's paying for my BabyLock Imagine which was quite expensive compared to my old Janome, but what a great little machine. No complicated threading or tension adjustments to worry about with this baby!!
Hope you are all enjoying plenty of dolly time. :)
Hello Sandy,
ReplyDeleteShe is a lovely addition to your collection. I really like the face detail!
Big hug

Thank you Giac, she is even prettier IRL. :)

Organizing always takes so much time!! And congrats on your new girl :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, nice to read the new sewing machine is great, they can be a pain sometimes =S
Oh boy don't I know it Musume! My hubby says it's like an archeological dig around here at present. I have so much stuff, much of which was in boxes and I'd forgotten I had. But I am making headway at last. :)
DeleteI have looked at the machine in the shop and ordered one, but it won't actually be arriving until this coming week...I am really looking forward to it.
Hugs,

Hellou!
ReplyDeleteShe is a cutie, congratulations and hope that she arrives soon! I like her style and that dog - such a fluffy thing! And good luck with the sewing with the new overlocker!
I visited their site just to take a peek at the dolls they have. have never owned a Getz, but it reminds me of my childhood, especially when it comes to the styling head. Still remember how the make up smelled. She was blond and I got her for Christmas. And many times I tried the make up on my own face. With different results.
How many times have I not started to clean and re-organize. Just a couple of days ago I did try and ended up with a messy side and a cleaner side in my doll corner.
Have a wonderful new week! Hugs!
Thanks Niina. It will be a little while before I'll get any sewing done, but I know this machine is going to do lots of things I'm yet to learn about.
DeleteI'm pleased you had a look at their site and that it brought back childhood memories for you, hope you have more luck with your makeup these days. I can't see to put any on anymore.
Good luck with your cleaning.

She's lovely! I used to have a brunette Hannah but now I just have my Asian Hannah at the Ballet, I really like this child-like body shape. I love your girl's red hair and look forward to seeing what you make for her to wear. And what a bit of luck to be able to buy almost local!

Hi Sharon,
DeleteI am so pleased I decided to order this one, she's really gorgeous in real life. I was so impressed I've ordered another Gotz gal from MDBF. Wasn't too keen on how she stood when I first got her, but now I have the hang of it I'm happy.
Didn't save much buying local and it took just as long to get here (from the other side of town) as it does from MDBF in the UK. Some local suppliers need to get their act together.

She looks interesting. How tall is she? I really love the look of her hair, colour and hairstyle and that outfit she is wearing is just so stylish. She also looks like she can stand on her own.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have a doll room. At least one day, I'll get a craft room where I can actually do stuff and not have to use the dining table all the time!
Hi Alasse,
DeleteShe is 50cm and can stand on her own. The hair can be washed and styled and the outfits is reasonably well made. Only one piece had Velcro thank heavens.
We bought more Ikea for the doll room and it's made it easier to see and find stuff. :) I'm sure you time will come.

Oh this girl is lovely!!!! Love her style, those boots are so cool! and the hair color is very nice~
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting a new overlocker!! Can't wait to see all the neat things yiu will make with it!
Thanks Alejandra. Yes, she's very stylish and a great size to make clothes for, not so fiddly, so I'm looking forward to using the new overlocker to make some clothes for her.

Oh boy, another cute doll! You have a very good eye for interesting dolls. Sounds like you are very busy trying to organize them all. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new overlocker. That will make sewing a lot easier. I would LOVE one, but I wouldn't use it very much as I am too busy to sew!
Hugs,
Sam
Thanks Sam, but you can blame Sharon, she's the great enabler when it comes to these dolls. You should check her blog out some time, you'll love it I'm sure.
DeleteI stopped using my Janome cause I had a hard time trying to thread it everytime the cotton broke, so the BabyLock will be a real godsend. It's hard with a young family to look after, but one day you'll have time...but knowing you, you'll probably spend any extra time with your doll houses. :)

Wow, she's beautiful!! I can't wait to see more photos and here your stories about this one. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Farrah,
DeleteMore photos soon I promise. :)

ReplyDeleteBTW How's the new house? You're all settled in now I hope.
