Knitting Frenzy

I've been kind of busy knitting lately, I hope you like them. :)

I used the "Susan" pattern from Jacknitss by Jacqueline Gibb (available on Ravelry). However, the pattern was designed for 18/19" dolls, and called for UK double knit yarn with 3.25mm needles. As I needed it to be smaller, I used 4ply yarn and 2.75mm needles which gave me the perfect fit for my Disney Animator dolls.

I managed to find matching shoes on eBay and had most of the buttons on hand.

Though I still need turquoise green shoes to match the cardi below and buttons for the blue cardi are on their way from Etsy.

These are part of optional outfits (dresses need to be sewn yet) that my girls will wear from time to time, when they are not in costume.

  1. These look so cute. I love the colours. I still do not think I will ever learn to knit. Seems really complicated! Your work is always so fine and detailed.

    1. Thank you Alasse. I've been very fortunate having such a good stash of Palette yarns to choose from. They have 150 colours to select from and I reckon I have at least a hundred of them. :)

Knitting really isn't that difficult, you should really give it a go. I tend to knit in the evening while watching TV and find it very relaxing. I think the key to getting it look that way is keeping the knitting in scale for the size of the doll, hence my using 4ply most of the time.

  2. These are so cute. I like your choice of colors. And it looks so great on your Anna :D
The animator dolls looks much bigger than they probably are. I can't seem to remember their exact size, but oh boy, am I ever so tempted to buy them XD

    1. Thank you so much Lise. The Animators are 16" tall and very reaonably priced. No where near as versatile as BJD's, but I enjoy a change every now and then and these are carefree fun. :)

    1. Hi Musume,
Oh I am pleased you think so, sometimes bright colours work and seem to suit this type of doll. :)

  4. Hello! Oh, that is some adorable knitting and matching shoes makes it just perfect! When I visited the Disney store, they had a wall filled with these dolls, and I was so so tempted to get Pokahontas as a big one. Ended up with a tiny one, Merida. :) Hugs!

    1. Hello Niina! I'm happy you like the matching cardis and shoes. Oh Pokahontas is lovely, I wish I could find one here at a reasonable price, I'd snap her up. Merida is really cute though, mine are all 16 inches tall, however, I do like the minis as they don't take up too much room. :)
