Well, even if I'm not, it appears our Coles supermarket is.
I have managed to collect these items so far. Is anyone else in Australia collecting these tiny versions of their local grocery shop?
When I first saw the advertising for these mini items, I thought "Great, just what we needed for our dolls". However, they are definitely not to scale.
Really! Have you ever seen a tube of toothpaste as big as a pack of baby diapers?
I can see I will need to separate them for use with different size dolls, but in saying that, they do look okay together in a shopping trolley.
And luckily for me, I also have two sizes of trollies to cope with the size variances. :)
Hope your week is off to a wonderful start and you're feeling inspired. :)

Great thumbnails. Only really is the scale problem.
ReplyDeleteYes scale is the problem, but I think we will be able to sort it out using different size dolls. :)

Great minds think alike! I've been meaning to do a post on these as I'm collecting them too. I've had quite a few double ups though so if there's something in particular you want, I might have a double up of it. I have my family collecting them for me too when they go to Coles.
ReplyDeleteI've found some work fantastic for my Barbie sized dolls but others will be more suited to either my Tiny bjds or my yo-sds.
I still haven't got the Vegemite one yet. That's my current holy grail of the collectibles.
So far I've only doubled up on the chicken noodles Alasse, but I figured we would probably do a swap of the doubles when the promo is over. :) Did you manage to get a basket? I tried but they sold out so quickly.

Oh wow you're lucky you only have one double up. Definitely will have to do a swap when the promo finishes. I have the girls from work collecting for me now too so I'll probably end up with a lot of double ups! I've only seen the collector case at the Coles I go to. I have never seen the trolley, basket or the bag and apron. Wonder if they just sold out quickly. I'll keep an eye out for a basket and if I see it, I'll grab two of them, one for me and one for you. I'll ask my parents in law to have a look too as they go to a few different Coles stores around town.
DeleteAccording to my daughter, they sold out in her store the first few days they were released. I have a delivery tomorrow so I may find I have a few more doubles, but I hope not yet. Oh it would be great if you find a basket, I'd love one, thank you. I didn't even know they had a bag and apron.
DeleteSo my in-laws told me that the different Coles store they went to all had a sign saying that due to the high demand, the baskets were all sold out and they weren't sure when they would be stocked again. They are going to Brisbane for a week so maybe they can check down there as well.
DeleteAlso, nominated you for the Mystery Blogger Award.
These are so cool :-). With the different sizes of dolls in your collection I'm sure every item will end up with the right doll :-). It's a great initiative of this store!
ReplyDeleteYes I agree, they are quite well made too Linda.
DeleteGreat miniatures! I wish one of our supermarkets has idea like that!
ReplyDeleteTere is no scale at all, but as you said you can separate it for different dolls.
Well it certainly took me by surprise, who would have thought the supermarket would think of doing such a thing. :)
DeleteMiniatures are great. You can separate them by size and use for diffent sized dolls :) I would be happy if I could find miniatures like this in my country :)
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be sorting them out, but I will wait till the promo ends. :)
DeleteHello! I do love miniatures, but sometimes the sizes can be a bit odd in comparison!
ReplyDeleteYes the sizes my be all over the place, but luckily we all have different size dolls and will be able to swap with friends. :)
DeleteI love these but my silly old husband won't let me switch supermarkets just to get them. Boo. So I'm having to make do with the new shopkins range that has packaging that looks like packaging. Less realistic but still fun.
ReplyDeleteOh dear what a bummer! For the first time in my life, I am actually glad to do the grocery shopping. LOL!

These are great! I love anything miniature like that, maybe that's why I have Chihuahuas LOL. We can rarely find miniatures here, but I always look....just in case!

Ha ha ha! Hopefully I end up with lots of extras Sharon, then I can send you some. I'm not sure how long the promo will run, but I hope long enough to stock the dolly larder. :)

Hi Sandi!
ReplyDeleteI love miniatures, they are great for toy photography. As you have dolls of different size, maybe it's not as a big problem.
Greetings ^^
Oh wow, these are amazing! I really like them - so cute!!!! Too bad the supermarkets here are not doing this as well.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Coles has been running out of these items shows that people really do like miniatures! Hopefully they keep making them, and lots of new ones too!
Wow this is so cool! Even if they are more for different sized dolls, it is still fun to have so amazing props.
ReplyDeleteAlso I had to laugh: when I am in a shop or market I always look for things in doll size - and it seems I am not the only one :D
How fun!!! Seems like a great merchandise tactic haha. Wish toothpaste was so big though, it would last so long!
