A Girl I Know Named Holly

Now don't be too surprised, but I have finally bought an Integrity Toys doll! Most of the time I find the ones I like are either out of stock or they are so ridiculously overpriced on the secondary market I simply cannot justify spending the money. However, this one was too good to pass on.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of the most stylish movies ever captured on film and its chic ingenue, Integrity Toys and Paramount teamed together in 2011 to bring collectors an exquisite "50th Anniversary Commemorative Doll Collection".

I have always loved the film "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and Audrey Hepburn in particular. She played such a fabulous role in this movie, wearing costuming by Hubert de Givenchy that was to die for. So it wasn't hard for me to part with the cash to bring this one home (and fortunately for me, she was only travelling from interstate, so postage wasn't the killer it usually is).

“How Do I Look” is Holly at her most simple and charming self. A girl has to have her beauty sleep, that is until a tall and handsome gentleman writer with boyish good looks and the deepest blue eyes anyone has ever seen (played by the young Robert Redford) rings her doorbell because he forgot his keys. What follows is a beautiful friendship that reluctantly turns into unbridled passion. This wonderful look above proves that Holly is quirky and charming even when she sleeps!!

She is fifth in the series and has a Loni Lawrence (Poppy's friend) head (which was actually Holly's before it became Loni's) on a 12-inch fully articulated vinyl Poppy Parker body (without articulated ankles). She is a dressed doll with rooted hair and applied eyelashes. Included is a night shirt, bright peach satin robe, sleepy eyes night mask, ear plugs, doll stand and certificate of authenticity ~ Limited Edition of 500.

I shall look forward to making the costumes for this doll!
Hope you all have an enjoyable week ahead of you all, big hugs,
X

    1. She's not here yet Alejandra, but should be before Christmas if there is no postal delays. :) Have you seen the movie Breakfast at Tiffiny's? This outfit is a great copy, though the doll looks nothing like Audrey herself. I will be happy to have her and will probably add a couple of other IT dolls next year.

  4. She's lovely! I have never seen one of these types of dolls in real life, but they look so lovely in photos. I look forward to seeing what you'll make for her, it'll be fun making 'glam' stuff!! :)

    1. Neither have I Sharon, but she will be here on Monday and I'm really looking forward to seeing how she poses. I have a pile of 'glam' fabrics so I should be able to create a few 'luxe' gowns.

  5. Congratulations of getting her! She's a beauty even if she doesn't look like Audrey. :)

I can't wait to see costumes you are planning for her!

    1. Thank you Joanna, I shall probably do something with her hair before I begin sewing. I plan on doing some sketches over the weekend so I can create something special for her.

  6. Welcome to IT circle! I didn't know you had plans for an IT doll! That's awesome. And what a great one to start with. She's beautiful. I also never knew the Poppy Parker bodies didn't always have the articulated ankles. Does she have the flat feet still? What are your thoughts on the IT dolls? I have seen a few Audrey Hepburn ones made by IT in the past. I always want one of them but as you said, second-hand prices for these dolls are really insane. Some of the older Poppy Parker ones can go for $1000.00 + It's really crazy. I can't wait to see the costume you will make for her! Big congrats!

    1. Hahaha! I had no plans Alasse, she was an impulse buy, and I already have another one coming and a couple more on my wish list. I blame you for this. LOL! I was expecting her today, but she was delayed so I will let you know about her feet later. Are you a member of the W club? I joined as they have member exclusives.
Thanks for the congrats, big hugs,

    2. Sometimes impulse buys turn out to be a good thing! Your second one, could she possibly be the girl in your banner? I have been eyeballing her myself! I am with the W Club this year but I'm not sure about next year. I was a bit disappointed with how they bunched all the new doll releases together this year with those long months where we got nothing. And the prices have increased since I first joined the club 3 years ago. The dolls are getting more and more expensive each year. I only got two dolls through the club this year so far. I wasn't impressed with a lot of the releases this year. I am kicking myself for not getting one of the Agnes from last year now. She's really pricey on the second-hand market and I just can't justify spending that much on her. I guess it'll all come down to if I'm swayed by any of the upgrade dolls for 2019. I really only join the club for the exclusive dolls that members are guaranteed to get. I don't bother with the ones sold through dealers as I never get there in time and the ones I like seem to sell out like hot cakes!

    3. No, she's next on my list, but will have to wait until after Christmas. Getting eyes checked for new specs and prescription sunnies tomorrow, so that's going to cost an arm and a leg! BTW US postage is going up AGAIN in January, as if it's not a killer already, so I doubt if I'll be buying many next year from there.

  7. Aww, everytime I see such IT beauty I'm starting to think I should get one for myself too... She is wonderful, congratulations! And I hope you will get her before Christmas, she will be such a gorgeous present!

    1. Thank you Chiriann, she arrived today and I'm pleased with her, but I'll keep her clothes in her box and make new clothes for her. I mean she can't run around in her robe all day, can she? :)
