Fitting Ruruko

Since female Ruruko dolls are on the stock Azone PureNeemo XS doll body, Ruruko measurements agree with the figures for those bodies (which is useful when selecting clothing or sewing clothing).

Although I first intended just to look for patterns, I ended up looking at clothes for other similar sized dolls including MGA Moxie Girlz and Bratz, as I thought I may find something suitable . . . I did look, but didn't like the fit or quality of the clothes I saw.

I did find (according to online research) clothing from Barbie’s younger sister Skipper, also typically fits Ruruko dolls quite nicely, and there are many individuals reselling Skipper clothes or advertising patterns (which was more of interest to me as I'm more inclined to sew).

There are also quite a few Etsy sellers who design for Blythe rather than for Ruruko specifically, but much of the clothing works interchangeably, with perhaps adjustment for length. My favourite being HelloCoolCat, they've been around a long time and have an extensive array of products including super duper shoes/boots (all under AU$20 a pair).

Then quite by accident, I came across this site ~ TheHandFlower and she had a few clearance items which were intended for the Azone PureNeemo Small Body, but I bought a set anyway.

Not perfect by any means and there will be Velcro to deal with for sure, but for the price I paid (AU$22.20 including shipping), I figure I can make any necessary adjustments.

Well that's it for me for another week.
Big Hugs to you all,
X

P.S. I thought you might like to see what the knitted dress I made for the Project Mc² dolls looks like on Ruruko. I almost surprised myself, because it looks much better than I thought it would. It's actually knee length when you look straight at her. I think if I used my pattern but knitted it in a slightly lighter yarn, it would be perfect for this size doll.

  1. She looks very pretty on that dress!! And how interesting, I was checking that same uniform listing on etsy last night hahaha. I shall wait and see how it looks on your girl, since I'm resolved not to buy anything until next year, where I might go a bit crazy haha

    1. Thank you Alejandra. Hahaha! Great minds think alike. :) I debated about which colour, but I thought she would look best in the blue set and at that price it was too good to pass on.

    1. Thank you BB, I think blue is definitely her colour. :) I hope it does, and yes, you get what you pay for. As I said, for the price I paid, I can always make any adjustments. :)

  3. The dress is lovely! Just as cute as the yellow cat ;). The set you bought also looks nice, even if not perfect. And I really like the bag :)

    1. Thank you so much Chiriann, the cat was a gift from a friend. :) Yes I agree it's very sweet. Actually, I found a couple of photos of bags that I thought I might make myself, as a bag is a hand prop to have for dolls.

  4. Oh that knitted dress does look nice on her. Good to know. Thank you for the links to those places. I have about two Pureneemo girls on the XS body so it's great to know there are clothing options out there for them too. I'm not always a huge fan of Azone's various outfits. And they can get pretty pricey too.

    1. Thank you Alasse, I am looking forward to seeing the yellow dress on one of your girls. :) Yes, they are very pricey, but I guess if they are made well it would be okay to purchase one or twp pieces for best.

  5. This was a very informative shop, and now I have favorited half the shoes available on that Etsy you linked. Especially those with bunny ears!

    1. ROFL! You should see all mine, my girls have heaps of shoes . . . I think they take after me. :) The bunny ears are very cute Musume and really suit the small dolls feet.

  6. I really like this body and received one last week for one of my bjds, my Ppinkydoll girl was going to get a change of body, but I think it'll be a problem attaching the head. So for the moment I have a headless body, but no probs as it's a cute body anyway.
I think the blue dress looks lovely on Ruruko, the colour is perfect for her blond hair.
Thank you for the links to Cool Cat on Etsy, I didn't even realise they were on there. This size of clothing will also fit my Hana Angel with her taller Jerry Berry body and my newer Annic by Irrealdolls. It's always good to know of new sources for clothing, although like you I tend to sew for my dolls myself.
    Have a great week ahead.
    Hugs xx

    1. Do you think you'll be able to attach it Sharon? Perhaps if you figure it out, you could do a tutorial on it. :) Always keen to learn something new.

Thank you, I think she is going to be a blue girl most of the time, but aqua and mauve would also look pretty on her too.

You're welcome, they have more for Blythe on their Etsy than on their website. :) Sometimes, it can be fun making a purchase or two rather than making them yourself, especially if something is in a fabric you can't find anywhere.

      You too! Hugs,
