She is jointed at the neck, shoulders, waist, hips and knees. Her head can turn to look up and down as well as side to side, and all of her other joints are sound, so she poses quite well and can stand in her boots unaided.
Her face is beautifully painted with not too much blush and her deep brown sleep eyes open and close smoothly. She has painted eyelashes top and bottom with additional lashes inserted into the lid of the sleep eye.
Cissy's head and arms are vinyl, and the head has a matte finish like her hard plastic torso and legs. Her arms are a little shiny and feel slightly oily to touch, but I shall give her a spa treatment later to hopefully resolve that issue.
Her hair is extremely fine and felt like it had been sprayed with hairspray, but after several minutes of brushing it was much smoother and free from the occasional knot. Though I must admit this hair could quite easily become entangled, so once I have settled on a style, I'll keep it that way.
I love her glistening stockings and lovely silver grey faux suede boots, though the pants (which are attached to the stockings) are a little loose and tend to slip down just below her waist. So before I begin on her outer garments, I'll be making her some new underwear.
The clothes that came with her were well made, but a little grubby so I have removed the silk flowers and soaked the clothes to see how they'll come up.
A little more information came to light when I opened her tag ~ her Style # is 27005, she was introduced in 2000 and retired in December that same year. My Romantic Dreams Cissy was part of The Couture Collection which also featured Cairo Cissy, Evening of Romance, Hollywood Cissy, Ivana Trump, New York Cissy, Rome Cissy, Shanghi Cissy and Vienna Cissy. She also had her price tag from Nordstrom (with the logo which was used from 1991–2019), the store where she was initially purchased from.
Over all I am happy with my purchase and am looking forward to sewing her complete wardrobe.

I'm glad that she arrived safely! She's very pretty, and it seems she's from the same collection as my Hollywood Cissy. My other Cissy is a convention doll. I do want to share some pictures of her, but I have some straightening up to do first.

I even managed to find photos of the other Cissy's which were included in The Couture Collection. When I have more time I will put them all together in a collage (provided you don't mind me using your photo of Hollywood).

Yep, you can use a picture of my Hollywood. I'm also in the process of doing some cleaning which will incidentally allow me to get to my two Cissy doll boxes. I think I have their cards in there; I will scan and post those if I have them. I would like to see more information about Cissy available online.

DeleteOoh, her body looks really nice and she has more points of articulation than I had thought! This oily film is propably a plasticizer (or rather some amount of it) that separated itself from the plastic (I heard about similar cases from figurines collectors). Some nice spa should be enough to remove it. Congratulations on gettig Cissy! Hugs, hugs!

DeleteThe slight oily touch was quickly rectified and she's okay now, I don't think it was as bad as some that I have read about...thank heavens. I will keep an eye on her arms though, just in case there are any further problems.

She is beautiful! I can't wait to see what you sew for her. All these MA Cissy dolls are so beautiful. Your doll in particular has such amazing hair! I think I mentioned how my Cissy's hair is very fragile and I worry about working it too much. Have fun and enjoy your new Cissy.

Thanks Brenda, I am still working on her under garments, but should have photos soon. My Cissy's hair reminds me of Rita Hayworth's gorgeous long locks. You maybe too young to remember "The Love Goddess" of the 1940's, but if you're a fan of the old silver screen, perhaps you will. :)
DeleteI'm not sure what the hair was made of in this period of Cissy's life, but to me it's far too fine to be Saran and feels more like a synthetic mohair. Perhaps yours is the same?
I am enjoying her very much and the more look at her, I think I should probably call her Rita and dress her accordingly, after all she has the look of a screen siren.

Oh yes, I can see why you liked those boots. They are really adorable. I love the design and colour. It sounds like she will be pretty good with the poses with all those joints. I'm glad you were happy with the purchase. She looks really lovely.
