Introducing Mila

My first dolly purchase for 2022 ~ Mila is a wonderful new Götz Happy Kidz doll designed by Elisabeth Lindner*.

She is 50cm/19.5" tall, has blonde rooted hair which is worn loose, but with two plaits pulled together and decorated with her best cat hair slide, fixed stone grey eyes, freckles and 9 points of articulation.

Her face paint is very natural just like a little girl and she even has an upper eyelid of real fibre eyelashes. Mila wears a strawberry pink pleated dress with sequin sleeves and her pretty ballet style shoes have long ties which Mila ties into bows around her ankles to keep them on her feet just like ballerinas do.

The Happy Kidz body is modelled on a typical 10-11 year old girl and Mila's high quality, real looking hair is durable enough for washing, combing and styling.

I have wanted a doll with this face for years as her face sculpt is very different to those I have by Hildegard Günzel, but in the past she's been snapped up before I've had a chance to buy her. I'm so pleased I didn't miss out this time.

*Elisabeth Lindner was born in Detmold, Germany in1951. She is self taught in the art of doll making and has become very successful. Elisabeth has attended exhibitions in Europe and has won several prizes. She made the Coca Cola ™ dolls for Franklin Mint and made casts for the Lison company until 1997. Her designs are also made at the famous Götz doll factory.

    1. I thought so too Uschi. I hadn't intended on making any purchases this year, especially any this size but the temptation was too much for me. 😂

  2. She is very pretty, I have been looking at these dolls lately too. What do you thin of the joints?

    1. I really like this doll's face, she is pretty however, not in a glamorous way like a lot of dolls, but in a much more interesting way. I think her face shows character.

The joints are perhaps not the best I have seen, I like the ball jointing better, but they do work rather well for posing. Nine joints is very good for a doll that's really a child's doll (or for people like us that still have an inner child). 😊

I will say they are lovely to dress Dorian, and I think you would love them.

  4. Thanks for the nice close up of her face. Like you I have looked at this face sculpt over the years and thought about adding her to my Gotz dolls collection.
And I was just looking at this girl again yesterday! Seeing her close up has made me decide that next time I have some funds, I will add her if she's still available...

  5. Congratulations on your new doll! I like your photo of her much better than the promo photos. I hope that one of your future posts will be one comparing this girl to the other dolls that you have with different face sculpts; it would be interesting to see.

  7. Congratulations on getting her! It's a very pretty doll, very... natural looking, just like a child. I like her face with this calm, neutral expression. And the freckles are just a cherry on top!
