Things Sent To Try Me

I'm feeling a little low today, you remember I said I was waiting on a few more items for my mid century diorama, well the parcel arrived a few days ago, but what I ordered was not what was inside. Instead was these . . . a teeny tiny car, a teeny tiny truck and plastic sheet!

Needless to say, I was really disappointed and immediately contacted the supplier who has continued to give me the run around for the past two days. After thinking about what I ordered and considering that the supplier could not give a care, I have requested a complete refund. Whether I receive one or not is completely in the hands of God and I'm certainly not wasting any more money by returning unrequested items.

BEWARE of "Shop910680008 Store" on AliExpress.  After several messages back and forth to AliExpress, they (not the store) FINALLY refunded my money.

Hubby will make the wooden items I require to complete the diorama and I will do the rest myself, which is something I should have done in the first place and probably would have done if I wasn't so impatient to finish this diorama and move on to the next before I lose the inspiration.

On the upside, my backdrops arrived and look great! So much so, I'm going to order a few more. The high resolution photos I chose were completely royalty free from Pexels and I had them printed as A2 wall art posters by Vista Print, which I need for the large mid-century windows. I then stuck them on 3mm MDF using adhesive spray . . . one image on each side. Of course if I was going to use Pexels photos for smaller windows, I'd just print them myself on A4 photo paper.

Here's another sneak preview to tide you over. Of course sneak previews are just that, they are not finished rooms. However, in saying that, it doesn't mean my girls will wait until it is, to have a photoshoot. :)  I think Holly is looking a little peeved she didn't get any cake!

Still waiting On: Rugs, wall art, curtains & a more proportioned backdrop.

Happy weekend to all!

  1. I am sorry you had such a bad experience. The few times I received wrong or damaged items AliExpress refunded me, so I hope you get your money back, too. Your little Monst girls look good with the modern furniture. I hope you will get the missing items soon.

    1. Thank you. Until this episode things had always been fine, but I guess there is always a bad apple in the barrel somewhere. I did get my money back eventually, but it was so stressful Mia, I'm not sure I will go back to AliExpress, unless it's a store I have already purchased from without any issues.

I think these Monst dolls will look good no matter what furniture I provide for them, I just love them to bits!

  2. I'm sorry to hear about the problems with supplier from Ali and hope you will get full refund! New diorama already looks fantastic, I love chairs, table and the view from the window. Ooh, and tiny "traditional" phone too!

    1. Thank you Chiriann, it's all fixed now. There's still a few things to add, but it's not too far from completion now. The telephone was actually purchased as 1:12 scale, but it fits in okay. There's a new backdrop coming, it just arrived today.

  3. Great photos of your dolls in a beautiful room! I'm sorry that not all the items you ordered arrived. I understand how frustrating that can be.

  4. I'm so sorry that you had this bad experience with AliExpress. It must be disappointing when you're got all your plans laid out. It takes weeks or even months for AliExpress stuff to arrive here, so being in a hurry is not an incentive to order from them at all.

    1. Thanks Barb, it was disappointing but things have fallen in to place nicely now. Hubby has done a great job of making replacements, my persistence paid off and I finally received my refund. I shan't be dealing with that shop again.

  5. Pexels is a great resource isn't it? I like to use it to print out some photos to inspire my writing or art.

I'm so sorry to hear about what happened with your order. That is really strange they sent that to you rather than what you ordered. I always am wary of that too whenever I order something. I am glad you were able to get a refund even if it wasn't from the seller, glad the host website did the right thing by you.

How big are the items you received? If you don't want them, I am happy to take them off your hands. Just let me know how much you want for them and I will buy them from you. I'm sure I could make use of them for some of my miniature photography.

    1. Yes, it is Alasse and it's come in very handy for this big window.
Honestly, I have no idea of what strange things go through the minds of some people, surely they must have known I would complain. Perhaps they think if they give people the run around for long enough, they would simply give up and put it down to experience. Not I though, I wasn't about to let it slide, it was the principle of it.
Oh they were really teeny tiny. I certainly wasn't about to use them for anything and I didn't think anyone else would either, so they went in the bin. SORRY!

  6. PS. I love the sneak peak of the diorama and that phone is one I have too. Isn't it so cool? Reminds me of the old style phones we used to have when I was growing up!

    1. Thanks Musume, yes it was. The chairs are available on Etsy, but cheaper on AliExpress if you want to risk it. :)

  8. Hello! Sorry to hear about your ordeal with AliExpress, but I am glad that you could get you money back. Stuff like this take so much time and energy.
I agree, Holly looks a bit peeved. :)

  9. How annoying to receive the wrong items then to be given the run around.
I love your sneaky peak, those chairs are wonderful and the dolls sitting in them
