Two Weeks in Singapore

Whilst I was there I went to Magma Heritage, the most wonderful doll store where you can find an amazing array of dolls for adult collectors. If you are ever travelling to Singapore, I recommend you add this to your list of places to visit.

Super Star and Adonis dolls
Blythe and to the left Sindy dolls
Dolls on the top shelf belong to Margaret
Barbie, Momoko and J Dolls

The owners of the store Madison and his mother Margaret, made me very welcome and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. They are both avid doll collectors themselves and are happy for you to have a good look around and are interested in what dolls you collect yourself.

Sweet Poodle Momoko: (Code: SGC21700 released 31st January, 2006)
Dressed up in what the Japanese like to call "Gothic Lolita", this Momoko doll has a pink poodle on her hand bag and comes with a doll stand to keep her safely on display!

Good Night Cherry: (Code: SGC21693 released 11th October, 2005)
Ready for bed, this sweet Momoko doll is dressed in a light nightgown, white bathrobe, cute nightcap and even white slippers trimmed in pink. And of course she carries her "cherry" pillow and comes with a doll stand.

These were both NRFB and as they both pose so well they really don't need their stands. They came in a hot pink (almost red) box with a clear see through panel with the Sekiguchi - PetWorks logo on the box.

The dolls were a little more expensive than their original release price, however, at 300SGD for both dolls (AU$330), they were much less than the prices asked for them on eBay and there was no postage to pay!

I'll share some more photos once I'm back in a routine at home and have caught up with all your blog posts.

  2. Little word of advice if you don't already own Momoko: they can be a hair fragile around the wrists and ankles. My Momoko has a little cracking on her ankle. Other than that they're great!

    1. Yes I know, but there are no children or heavy handed people in my household. :) My sweet Ruruko needed a sister and an aunt.

    1. We really enjoyed Singapore, I would have liked to see more doll shops, but I am happy with the Momoko dolls I purchased. :
You have a good eye for finding in scale fabrics Mia. Roux looks lovely in her petal dress and I like the relaxed look the belt and vest add to it. I tried to comment yesterday but I was having trouble again.

  6. I remember hearing the name Magma Heritage a lot back in the day. It looks like a fantastic store, and I see a lot of things that I would have loved to take home myself. I like Momokos, but they're so similar to the J-Dolls that I can't see having both, and I like the J-Dolls better. I love the Momoko fashion aesthetic though, and the shoes! Your two new girls are both very pretty.

    1. I expected you would Barb, they have been around for over 20 years. I looked at the J-Dolls Madison had in stock, and they were lovely but I had my heart set on Momokos. You'll have to share some photos of yours, I'd love to see them. Thank you, I was happy they had different faces, one looks straight ahead and the other side glances.

  7. Hi Xanadu! This store looks amazing, I wish I could visit a store like this! The Momoko dolls have always caught my eye, but I've never considered collecting them myself. I like to enjoy them through the photos of other collectors.
Hope you had a great time during your trip!

  8. Yes it was Linda. Thank you, I am happy with them, but as a trio with my Ruruko I don't think I will be adding any more. Oh I loved Singapore, the people were really friendly, it was so clean and so safe I could travel anywhere there by myself. I would recommend it as a holiday destination.
