Exterior Colour Schemes

I spent the morning putting some "mood boards" together, mainly to keep myself focused, however, I thought you might like to see them.

The inspiration for both houses comes from these lovely old Victorian homes which I found while browsing online. The first is for the M & D house.

Although the Beacon Hill house will be attempted further down the line, I still wanted to have something to keep me on track. I figure if I have it on paper and I like it, I shouldn't need go do any further browsing.

So what do you think? Do you think the exteriors colours will suit the interiors I spoke about in the previous posts?

If you click on the pictures it should give you the A4 size photo, so you can read the test better.

  1. Green is my favorite color, so I'm biased towards that group, LOL.

    1. Thanks RM, I think the green will look great with the interior colours too.

  2. Both color palettes are inspiring! That is often how I begin to imagine a project, too, and then everything falls into place.

    1. Thank you Jodi, I'm hoping these will keep me focused, I don't really want any distractions while I'm building these. I have found some great digital seamless graphics for wallpaper on Etsy and can't wait to use them.

  3. I love the first color scheme, even if it might look a bit more gloomy. But if you plan to use it for your little Monst crew, the second is probably a better match with their overall colors.

    1. Thanks, I wanted the M&D house to look a little moody, it will go with the black and white interior. Unfortunately the Monst kids will be to big for this house Mia, it's 1:12 scale. However, I shall test my CP/Fairyland Real Puki's in it when it's done.

  4. I do love the nature colors in general - green, yellow, brown. Or as the kids pointed out to me once: "You love beige, have you not noticed that?" But a Victorian house in purple tones looks amazing! Hugs!
