Our May Adventure

Well here we are again and only by the hair on my chiny chiny chin! Heather's challenge for the Adventurer's Club this month really had me going there for a while and time was against me this month!

It was the last day of spring and the girls were getting prepared for the winter by sorting out their clothes, when they noticed a small paper scroll laying in the corner of the robe. Cadbury picked it up thinking it was perhaps an old invitation or some such thing. It cumbled a little as she unrolled it and to her surprise it looked just like a treasure map.
Cadbury: "Oh my! Look at this!" she exclaimed. "It can't be, but it is. It's a real treasure map."
"Don't be so daft, Cadbury." Lindt replied. "There's no such thing, you only see those things in movies."

Cadbury then laid it out on the floor and they sat there for staring at it for quite some time, before deciding, yes, it was a treasure map of some sort. So after much study…

Shh Quiet I'm Sleeping

Just kiddin'. :) Things have just been a little slow getting from the studio to my blog of late. As it often happens, life gets in the way so things get put on hold for a short while.
I did attend a Doll Show recently and managed to catch up with a few dolly friends, but once again the camera was the last thing on my mind as I rushed out the door, so no pictures taken there, sorry. I did pick up some lovely trimmings and a couple of new wigs for my Rogebell hybrid. Also added another elf doll to my collection, but I'll do a proper post on her later.

Of course I have also been doing more sewing, it appears I have a bent on striped stockings and arm warmers, I can't seem to stop making them!

I've ordered more striped fabric so there will be even more colours and stripe widths to choose from. I will be making for SD, MSD and Iplehouse BID sizes for now, but will add more to my Etsy store as I progress with sewing. There will be several different styles - stockings above …

Hybrid Dressing

I have just finished another outfit, this time for my Hybrid (Napi Rogebell head and Volks SD13 Cyndy body) but still haven't finished the dress I was supposed to be working on.

Pale aqua and ivory stockings, pale aqua long legged undies, a dress made from printed Japanese lawn and plain lawn, with a ruched bodice and three tier skirt, it has arm warmers in the same fabric as the stockings and added puffs in the plain lawn, so as you can see, it can be worn a couple of different ways.
My little Hybrid is yet to be named and have a face-up, but all in good time. :)

Chorus Girls

Just a few little pastel dresses to fit PukiFees and Lati Yellow, which are now available in my Etsy boutique. They come with matching bloomers!

The dress on Cadbury (with the purple hair) is SOLD!

Nip and Tuck

It all began with the cotton jersey stockings . . .

then came the arm warmers with a lace cuff . . .

the spotted voile bloomers . . .

the matching blouse . . .

the ten piece knee length skirt . . .

a pretty overskirt . . .

and a coordinating belt with a ribbon tie.
The ribbon tie will be replaced at a later date with organza ribbon, when they arrive from my Etsy supplier. I am so pleased with how this all turned out, it's all been made without a pattern. I just draped, cut and sewed, with a few minor nip and tucks here and there.
I will show you the completed outfit on the doll when the wig I have chosen for her arrives from JPop.

While the Cat's Away

I can believe it's been almost a week since I posted anything on my blog, the time has just flown by. It's been really lovely and relaxing here for the past few days, hubby's up at our country property playing with his tractor. While he's been gone, Pooklet came over for a dolly day which was great fun. We were so engrossed in chatting, playing, planning future purchases we completely forgot to take any photos . . . now how dumb is that?! Speaking of photos, I will be doing a post later on her beautiful knitting, (I got spoilt with a lovely jumper for Nadia and three little boleros for my sweeties), now I'm just waiting for her to get a few dolly things posted in her shop.
I've been buying more fabrics, doing a little sewing and buying more dolls. Having said that, my friend Willoughby will be pleased to know I BOUGHT A BONNIE at long last (from DOA) and she will be on her way tomorrow. It almost wasn't to be, as I was to be put on a waiting list, which at…
