Pleasant Sunday Afternoon

Great band, fabulous syncopated jazz music from the 1920's, period venue with fun lighting, people of all ages, from all walks of life, some with their children, some in costume of the time . . . we couldn't think of a more pleasant way to spend an afternoon on a wet Sunday in Melbourne!

Looking forward to the return of Andrew Nolte and his orchestra to the Spotted Mallard. :)

  1. Hi Sandi!
Although I'm not a fan of jazz music, it's a really nice way to have a pleasant day. The atmosphere looks very nice. Glad you had fun and thank you for sharing.
    Greetings ^^

    1. Hi Lily,
I know jazz isn't for everyone, but we love most types of music (except for heavy metal and rap) so we had a great time. The atmosphere is lovely.

  2. Looks like this was a lot of fun! Hearing music played by a live band is the best.

    1. Hi Sam,
It maybe not for everyone, but perfect for us, and on Sunday the weather was really miserable . . . I know you understand only too well what winter in Melbourne's like.

  3. Thanks for posting your photos of this event. I love how they set up the stage and those colours shining on the orchestra. The costumes would have been so fun to see too.

Oh and i just noticed those hanging lamp lights. They are so neat. I really love all the different styles. I would love to do that sort of thing in the "library" room in our house but hubby is very conservative and would say no to that.

It sounds like such a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Glad you enjoyed it.

    1. Hi Alasse,
Hey you are welcome and you are right about those in costumes, it certainly adds to the atmosphere of the place.
If you like it, just do it, he'll get used to it in time . . . that's one thing I don't have a problem with, the inside décor is my domain. LOL!

    1. Hi Alejandra!
The photos don't really capture it properly, you need to be in the room to see it all. I love old buildings, they are so facinating and I wonder about their history. It was a lovely day out.
