Waiting

Do you ever feel like you are spending half your life waiting? I never used to feel like this before I began collecting BJD's, but it seems it's all I do these days. I wait for dolls, wait for shoes, wait for wigs, wait for eyes, and wait for face ups.

Speaking of face ups, my Daisy and Maisie face ups (above) which were done by "petitemarine", were finished and returned so promptly last Monday morning and I am still waiting impatiently for them to arrive. Can you believe it takes at least four days for Australia Post to ship them from Queensland to Victoria, when I could drive there and back in less time!! That's if they turn up tomorrow.
I am so thrilled with the face ups, they are exactly how I wanted these girls to look. They have similar colouring, being both redheads with blue eyes, they have sweet little freckles on their noses and tiny white "teef". Hopefully tomorrow I can show photos of them completely dressed.

    1. Hi M!
It appears they arrived over the other side of town at three minutes to five, so lets hope there's a decent night shift working. I have everything crossed. :)

  2. Ohh those faceups look so cute! Hope you get the heads home soon :)

Hahah I'm with you on the waiting XD I do faceups myself, but everything else is always waiting, waiting and waiting... I've gotten used to it during my years in the hobby, now it feels like time goes by so fast!

    1. Hi Safir,
They are just the cutest, I love them. I don't think I will ever get used to the waiting, even though it's all part of the hobby...I'm just too impatient.
      Hugs,

  3. Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean about the waiting. This is also something I wasn't used to until I started collecting bjds myself. I mean, I still have to wait for my Pullips and Figma and Azones but at least with those, I don't have to do anything else for them as they all come "ready for display". No face ups, wigs, clothes.

Your face up artist did a gorgeous job on Daisy and Maisie. They look so adorable and I really love how she did those freckles. They look so detailed and delicate.

Forget sending something to WA. It costs just as much as sending overseas (for dolls anyway) and takes anywhere from 7-10 days - same amount of time as overseas. It's crazy. I've had stuff arrive in the USA before they arrived in WA (from Queensland). Makes you wonder when it takes just as long nationally to post something.

    1. Hi Alasse!
You know it doesn't matter how busy I am the waiting seems to go on forever and it's worse when it's something I need to finish a project.

Oh yes, I love the freckles, I wanted them to be soft, not like some I've seen where they look more like fly poops!! I love her work, M almost seems to read my mind when it comes to faceups.

It's crazy isn't it, and I get really cross when something I post that needs to go to my accountant who is 3 suburbs east of me travels all the way to the west of the city before coming back to the east, and it happens quite often. And AustraliaPost have the gall to blame their losses on lack of letter post, more like bad management if you ask me. Sorry for ranting, but it's a pet hate.

  4. Hello Sandy,
Being an incredibly inpatient person, I will not comment on the shipping situation ;) The faces really are fantastic!
    Big hug,
    Giac
