Joy to You All!

Well this post has been a long time coming, I have been so busy with Christmas shopping and other dolly delights I have sadly been neglecting my blog and friends, but not to worry I have pics to show you and news to share. :)

Feeling lazy and not at all like sewing, I came across Carol Pringle's lovely clothes on Flickr and placed an order for 4 outfits to be made to fit some of my smaller dolls.

I came across these little gals on the internet recently, which hubby was kind enough to buy for me for Christmas. They will come dressed in these clothes, but will probably fit into those above. :).

Fortunately for me both dolls (Dasha and Nora) were available locally and are on their way to me as I write. I'm not sure whether they will stay as they are, or have a re-paint, eye and hair change. This will depend entirely on my reaction when I hold them in my hot little hands. :)

The measurements, as you can see below, are a perfect size for me and have a body size very close to my Dollmore Narsha Zihu, which means they will be able to share some clothes.

Paola Reina Dolls are an exquisite range of dolls individually hand made in Alicante, Spain from high-quality vinyl (polyvinyl chloride) without ethers or phthalates and meeting all European quality and safety regulations.
  • They have a soft vanilla scent.
  • The eyes are made of hard plastic including life-like eye lashes (eyes do not close).
  • The low flammable nylon hair comes from German and Italy and is styled by hand.
  • The hair is also securely sewn in and not glued.
  • Facial features are hand painted (eyebrows, lips, cheeks, freckles).
  • Articulating arms, head, and legs so doll can be placed in both standing and sitting positions.
  • Clothes are made with quality fabrics designed by the Paola Reina team.
  • Suitable for age 3+. (I'm in that bracket somewhere.)
Well that's about all my immediate news, and just in case I get caught up again ~

Hugs to you all! I'll be back after Christmas to share my presents. :)

  1. Wow but she looks so adorable! The wait sounds similar to the Azone Character dolls. The face painting is stunning. Those eyes are painted too right? They look so realistic and shiny like real eyes.

I haven't heard of either of these dolls so you've introduced something new to me! Congrats on the new ones coming in. Hope they arrive quickly for you.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a 2017 full of new dolls!

    1. Hi Alasse,
The LittleDarlings are hard vinyl with painted eyes and wigs. There are three models, and depending who paints them, come with undergarments.

The Paola Reina are a soft vinyl, have several different dolls and come dressed in different outfits with different colour hair and styles. Not sure if they are rooted or wigs until I have one to check as I couldn't find any info on that.

Thanks for the Christmas wishes, I'm going to slow down on collecting in 2017.

  2. Hi Sandi,

So nice to see you around again with news. All these dolls are very beautiful, congrats on the new ones coming in.

The Paola Reina dolls are lovely, I like the Gorjuss collection. I've seen them on shops and doll events and are high quality dolls.

    Greetings ^^

    1. Hi Lily,
Thank you. Now why am I not surprised you like the Gorjuss dolls, you realise those dolls cannot smell or speak don't you. LOL! Strange they have no nose or mouth.

My dolls have arrived and I am very impressed by the quality of the dolls, they are lovely.

  3. Oh my she's such a cutie!!! That is a huge wait, but I'm sure she will be worth it. I wasn't familiar with this doll, love her cute nose and the overall paint job is just perfect.

    1. Hi Alejandra,
At least I didn't have to pay for the whole doll up front just a $100 deposit. The LD's are hard to get and expensive for a vinyl doll, but they have beautiful faces.

The Paola Reina dolls are inexpensive but very good value and Dasha's hat and coat is fully lined. The only thing I don't like is the Velcro, but I will change that. I think they put that on because it's easier for kids to change the clothes.

    1. Thanks Musume. If you want Dianna herself to pain the face you could be waiting twice that. Pat, who's painting mine, is trying to catch up with her orders, but she told me a year.

    1. Hi Fararah,
Because mine is being painted by Pat, she won't be exactly the same as Dianna's, and she will probably have a different wig, but still be a redhead. Right now it's difficult to get one, I was just lucky Pat had an opening. If one comes up for auction, so many bid that they go anywhere between $1200 to $4000. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

  6. I have never heard about this type of doll before, but now I have looked into her, I really love her. :D She's such a cutie!
I couldn't find prices anywhere sadly. But I imagine they must be expensive
The second ones are very cute as well :3

    1. Hi Nikkki,
They really are lovely, so I'm glad I ordered one when I did, the waiting will test me though. :) Most artist chage around $500, but on eBay you can see auction prices soar!

The dolls from Spain are children's dolls, so are reasonably priced around $100...very good value.

  8. Congratulations on ordering your first Little Daring, you will be happy with her, Pat Green paints beautifully :) My first order was with Pat although the doll came second after my Ellie by Diana. It's great that you'll get her next year, you do not want to wait the 26 months that I waited for one of mine!
The Paola Reina dolls are cute and very well made here in Spain!
Hope you have a great Christmas and all the best for 2017.
    Hugs Sharon in Spain x

    1. Thanks Sharon, I noticed you had a few Little Darlings. Pat is a little vague in her responses, so I am hoping she arrives in time for Christmas next year, fingers crossed anyway. I have also contacted Joyce, and somehow I think I'll probably get hers before the one from Pat!
My two PR's have arrived and I am very happy with them, they are the perfect size and extremely well finished for the price. I bet you'd pay next to nothing for them in Spain...do you have any?
      Thanks for the Christmas wishes,

  10. Hi Xanadu,
These are all very pretty dolls! The LittleDarling doll has a really beautiful face. I am only taking a quick glance because I know how tempted I become if I look too long! (I love all kinds of dolls!)
The outfits that you have chosen are really cute. I know that you will make some gorgeous outfits for these dolls as well when you have time.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a great new year!
    Hugs,
    Sam

    1. Hi Sam,
I have stopped looking at BJD completely and am trying to be a good girl spending less time on line and more time knitting at present.
Still waiting for the clothes to arrive, and I'm sure when they do I'll be inspired to sew again. :)
Thanks for the good wishes, I hope you take some time for yourself this Christmas and enjoy it with your family.
