Another Beauty or Two, or Maybe Three!

I fell hook line and sinker for another doll just recently. Although I had heard of the famous German Zwergnese dolls beforehand and viewed a few on the internet, I had never seen one that appealed to me enough to bring home. That was until I met Violet . . . she is 50cm tall, is fully made of phthalate-free vinyl which is harmless to health, has 5 joints for mobility, a hand-painted face, wig, real leather shoes which are deliberately larger than her feet, high-quality clothing and is packed in high quality cloth bag for her journey to her new home.

Her designer Nicole Marschollek-Menzner, has a knack of making her dolls appear incredibly childlike. The combination of an unexpected painted expression with a slightly ungainly posture, and garments which clothe the doll in such a way as to make it look almost alive, simply amazes me.

I can see myself looking for more of these dolls down the track, I really doubt if I could ever stop at owning just one, they are far too pretty . . . don't you agree?

Of course Abigail may find her way into my shopping basket next . . . you know how much I adore little red haired girls!

I could also be tempted by this little sweetie by Kath Kruse (if she ever comes back in stock). I mean, she is after all, quite the little darling and very hard to resist with her rosebud lips and all those beautiful loose ringlets. BTW if you want to know more about the artist behind this doll, just click on her name to view her history, it dates back to 1905!

Well that just about wraps it up for this post. Hope you are all having a wonderful week!
Hugs,
X

  1. Oh gosh, your new Violet is stunning! She is the prettiest doll from that company that I think I've ever seen. Her face is gorgeous. :) I also love little Abigail...what a charmer (shh...Abigail is actually MY real name..I just go by Farrah in the blog world!) :) I hope you are having a great week as well!

    1. Thank you Farrah. I'm glad you see why I was tempted. :) They are both lovely, but I could only afford on right now as I have others on the go.

    1. Hi Giac,
At this rate there will be no money left behind when I go to meet my maker . . . just dolls and teddy bears. :)
I'm pleased you appreciate them all.
      Big hugs,

    1. Oh I agree they are interesting Musume, not sure about knowing so much though. I have found that researching dolls can be a lot of fun, and I love doing it, but it can become a very expensive experience. Especially when you keep finding dolls that are too nice to leave on the screen . . . if you get my drift. :)

  4. These are some really cute dolls. I, too, have a weakness for red hair. It's so beautiful. My dad was a redhead as a kid, but grew out of it. I sadly didn't inherit the genes.

    1. Thanks Lise, the more I look around, the more dolls I fall in love with. There is sooo much creative talent out there that I would never have seen or heard about if I didn't have the internet. Each day I discover more beautiful dolls, and most of the time the red haired girls manage to hop into my shopping basket before I realise it!

I wonder what it is about the red hair that grabs us??? I have never managed to figure out exactly why I am attracted to them, I just am. :)

  5. Hello! I thought I had commented on this post - but the technical things do not work the same on a smart phone, as on a computer. Oh my - well, well!

So, such beautiful dolls and so much temptation. It is such different dolls and I really like the doll with the red hair, Abigail. Hope that you can get one or maybe all three of them! Hugs!

    1. Hi Niina, sometimes I think things get lost in cyberspace. :)

I am so tempted to bring Abigail home, but my funds are being spent on other things right now, so she will have to wait. Which will be good for me as it will give me time to think about my purchase, instead of being impulsive.

  6. I am happy to see that you've discovered Zwergnase Juniors! I have some here, as you know, including Violet, who is one of my favourites too :) I'm selling one of my girls too...if you're interested LOL ;) Aren't I terrible with my advertising!
I look forward to seeing what you do with your Violet :)

    1. Hi Sharon,
Fancy you having Violet too, that's cool. I saw the one you had for sale, but unfortunately she doesn't do it for me. I probably won't have too many of these dolls, though I love Abby and who knows what next year will bring. :) I shan't be doing too much for Violet except for making her new clothes to wear later on, I like her as she is right now.

  7. Those dolls are incredibly beautiful. I can see why you would be tempted by them especially Abigail, red hair and do I spy freckles too? Clothing looks nice quality too.

I actually didn't know vinyl was harmful to your health. I assumed it wasn't like resin which can be toxic (inhaling resin dust).

    1. Hi Alasse,
Well some are beautiful and some are whimsical, but they certainly are different and that's what I really like about them. Yes, Abby is causing quite a dilemma right now, I'd love to bring her home, but I have spent so much on dolls just lately, I think I need to give it a rest and let my wallet recover. LOL!

I think all these materials are a bit dicey as they all seem to contain chemicals of some sort and I think the fumes they emit can cause problems with people's health. I remember sometime back there used to be some concern about the vinyl upholstery they use in cars . . . have you ever noticed the film on the inside of the windows of your car? Remember too when I said one of my vinyl doll smelt shocking when I unboxed her? I think it's good to be a little cautious, but not paranoid. :)
