Feeling Impish

Have you ever wondered what you may be called if you were an Elf, a Hobbit or a Fairy? Well one day when I was feeling a little bored, somewhat mischievous and curious . . . I went looking HERE and I found out my Elvin name is Alassë Helyanwë (thought this was a very strange coincidence, as I have a blogging buddy called Alassë), my Hobbit name is Prisca Foxburr of Loamsdown and most importantly my Fairy name is Feather Goblinwand.

Feather Goblinwand is a bringer of riches and wealth, who lives in high places where the clouds meet the earth and she is only seen when you hold a four-leaf clover. She wears pale blue like the sky and has gentle green wings like a butterfly.

I thought perhaps I may look a little like this wee fairy painted by James Browne.

The winter fairy painting below (also by James), I purchased for myself at Christmas a few years ago . . . I think she is beautiful and enjoy having her keep me company in my studio. James has some lovely prints and paintings for sale on his website . . . CLICK HERE if you'd care to see them.

I have also long been keen on pencil illustrations, as well as pen and ink . . . I may even get round to resurrecting a few of my own to show you one day!

  1. I hope you do share your art with us. I always enjoy seeing art. Although I always wish I was a better artist! With me though it's too many hobbies not enough time!

Those name generators are pretty cool. My screen name is actually the elven version of my real name which I put through a generator. I liked it so much, I've been using it as a screen for a while now, back when I was making pixel dolls. Alasse seems to be a popular elf name for some reason.

    1. Hi Alasse,
I used to illustrate professionally years ago, mainly in pen and ink, also dabbled in oils for a while, but these days I only tend to toy with my pencils. Like you, never enough time to do everything I'd like to do, but that is often the case with creative people who have ecclectic interests.

Yes, they are but I was quite surprised when my name came out as yours. LOL! I do like my generated names though.

  2. Hello! This was a lovely post and beautiful art. I had to test my new hobbit and elven name. Got this result: Ruby Bolger of Newbury and Nessa Cúthalion. I liked the both, but yours were a good one, as our blogger friend. What is the probability of that!? :D
Hope that all is fine with you! Happy weekend! Hugs!

    1. Hi there Niina!
I am so happy you enjoyed the art and love your names. Ruby sound rather like a royal hobbit, don't you agree? Yes, my elvin name was truly a remarkable coincidence. :)
All's well down the hobbit hole.
