Today I was up bright and early and I decided after recent efforts, I would stay away from the 'puter and get some more sewing done. Even after my recent clean up, I still have fabric all over the place.
Then the NBN tech arrived to connect the inside of the house, only to find the outside had still not been rectified . . . it's a long story that's been going on since December.
Pushing that aside and all the time hoping I could calm myself down, I thought to myself . . . I will just take a peek to see who's done what in the blogasphere . . . and here I am three hours later still sitting at my desk typing away!
I did manage to prepare a couple of dolls for a photography session . . . but of course wouldn't you know it . . . before I could actually begin taking any photos, the camera needed charging!
This was not a good start. Ruddy hell, I felt like pulling my hair out, except I recently had it cut short . . . and I mean really, really short!
All grumbling done, I do have a little bit of dolly news though. I wanted to find myself a doll that would fit into some clothes that I'd made a long time ago, as they were too nice to throw out. The doll needed to be a little on the chubby side, as the clothes were originally made for a teddy bear. So after a little research, I found this one, which I think/hope will do nicely.
She is a Spanish doll made by Antonio Juan, and available from Petalina Dolls in the UK. I will provide more details once she arrives.
Well so much for good intentions, however, a new post is written. So now I will finally begin sewing . . . now let's see what should I start first? Mmm, I think the new project . . . yep, it's definitely the new project that's calling me the loudest. What goes on inside this head can be quite amazing at times, though you certainly wouldn't want to visit me in here, it's sooo darn noisy! LOL!!
Cheers all, have a great weekend!
Hello Sandy,
ReplyDeleteThe doll is lovely. I hope she works out with the outfits. I also hope everything gets settled...don't pull out your hair, have some dessert instead!
Big hug
Giac
Hi Giac,
DeleteOh so do I, it's a shame not to be able to use them. I'm sure it will, and yes the dessert idea is a good one, except I really shouldn't . . . I have to think of my waistline. :)
Hugs,

I can relate to the time sucking void of going on the computer! Sometimes, it doesn't seem real how we can get caught up online for so long! It's kind of hard to remember life before computers and smartphones, lol but somehow we managed! I've also been ere with the photo shoot camera battery dead fiasco, lol. Hope you're have a nice rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteI like that expression Farrah, "time sucking void" is the perfect name for it!! LOL! Hopefully today, I'll get some photography done. Thanks, you too!

Hello, hello!
ReplyDeleteIt is like a city harbor, my mum used to say, when she was sewing and sat there with her thoughts. No silence at all and new things popping up like never before. Today I use those words when my mind wanders off. And my husband knows well not to ask what I am thinking about, because then it all comes out from dolls, to food, to projects, to news.... :D It can be funny at times.
I know the feeling - I will just check one thing on the net and suddenly it is time to make dinner. Where did those hours go?!
Your new little found is a cute one! Look forward to meeting her. And now I will visit Petalina Dolls, wonder how many hours will disappear magically this time? LOL. :D
Have a nice weekend ahead. Hugs!
Hi Niina,
DeleteIsn't it funny how we all have different ways of expressing our overloaded minds? I must remember that one for future use when my hubby tries to suss out what's going on in my mine :)
Time slips by so quickly even when I'm not on the 'puter, but more so when I am. Blink!! Blink!! and the day's gone!
Yes, I thought so, she has such a childlike face so will suit my purpose as long as the clothes fit. Hope you enjoy visiting Petalina Dolls, they have lots to view and enjoy.
Big hugs,
X
It is truly amazing how you can get caught in the blogosphere vortex where time stands still until your realize many hours have actually passed! This has happened to me many times and I wonder why I cannot get any crafting done!
ReplyDeleteI have to give my husband a plug here, When I got my camera (for Mother's Day) he bought a second battery so that in the event that one needed charging I would have another one ready and my photo shoots would not be interrupted. What an awesome man! I think you should invest in a second battery for sure!
As for the new doll - she is so sweet!
Hi Sam!
DeleteI have been trying to stay away from the computer, but then I miss you all. :)
Now that's something I thought of some time ago, but never quite got round to doing. I know I really should and just when I have spare cash, I go blow it on another doll!!
I'm glad you think she's sweet, I really like that she looks so happy.
Hugs,

Sounds like one of those days. I get them a lot too. You have a perfect plan laid out and it only takes one little thing to throw it out of whack! I have to admit, this is why I keep my blog reading list small otherwise I could be sitting here for hours just catching up on blogs, especially if I end up not being online much (like the past month).
ReplyDeleteLike all your outfits, that one looks really lovely. You find some pretty interesting dolls. Hope the wait isn't long for you. I read on your other post about the wait times for those other dolls. That is indeed very long. Not sure I'd have the patience for that length of time!
Enjoy the weekend!
Oh yes Alasse, it definitely was. Ah that's another thing that has me under a spell . . . I had every intention of sewing when I finished writing this post, but ended up knitting more pretties for these little Animators. I mean they can't run around in just cardi's and nickers, can they?
DeleteI know, it's way too long, by the time they arrived, I'd be onto something else and probably wouldn't have quite the love for them as they deserve.
Had a lovely weekend in the garden . . . enjoying the sunshine which finally arrived!
Hugs,

Haha you're as bad as me.....I do exactly this, "just a quick look at....x, y or z" yeah right, it never happens, I always somehow manage to 'lose' several hours!
ReplyDeleteWell lets hope you did get some sewing done anyway!
And a cute little Juan Antonio doll too :) You're doing your bit for the Spanish economy, thank you my dear! xx
It's so easy to lose a day on the 'puter, I am still trying to stay away, but it calls to you!!
DeleteNo not quite, the sewing is still waiting and I am still knitting.
Yes, I felt a little silly the other day when I hadn't realised I already had one on the way, until after I had answered your email. Blame it on a senior's moment! LOL!
Hugs,
