Organising the Doll Room

You may remember sometime back I posted about these containers here.

Well I realised the day would come when my fabrics would need the same treatment, along with wigs, shoes, doll clothes and props . . . so as soon as the containers were on special again I bought heaps! And of course a quick visit to Ikea was also necessary for I needed more Billy bookcases.

And here's the "almost" finished results. :)

I say "almost" because the content of those little containers need to be put into larger containers and I still need to sort out my wigs and doll shoes. Fortunately I have 8 more boxes arriving tomorrow.
And one more single Billy bookcase wouldn't go astray either. :)

Now what have you lot been up to I wonder, better go check . . . big hugs, X

  1. Doll room great and wonderfully decorated. Sorting and arranging everything makes it easier to use resources later. I' m impressed by the amount of doll accessories.
    Regards.

    1. Thank you. I really needed to do this as I have so much stuff and it was beginning to get really messy and difficult to find things when I needed them. :)

  2. Hello Sandy,

How wonderful it must be to have everything so well organized. I have tried several times to tidy up my drawers in the craft room...but after 20 minutes I get bored...oh well.
    Big hug

    1. Hi Giac,
It's not a job I enjoy, but it became very much a necessity because I was wasting too much time looking for things . . . very frustrating when you need something in a hurry. :)

  3. You seem to like to be as organised as me! I have my doll things in containers like those too. I have them sorted right now by doll type. Although my bjds have the most containers as their stuff is split into: Shoes, Wigs, Clothes. But I want to split them even more into size as well but then I won't have any space in my current craft room to do anything in!

    1. I'm really not that organised Alasse, but I feel good about it now it's almost done. The other 8 containers arrived at 6.30am along with my groceries (I get them delivered now) and the containers are sitting in the doll room waiting for me to finish the job. :)

Can't you fit another Billy bookcase in there somewhere? OMG I love that shelving system, don't know what I'd do without it! :)

  4. Looking good and so well organized. I still have mine neatly in the doll boxes, when I'm not playing with the dolls and so on. And those Billy bookcases are just the best! Have some of my own, too, but mostly with books. One has some toys, though.
    Happy Easter and hugs!

  5. Oooooh you have been busy and love all those colours peeking through the sides of the boxes! I know what you mean about organising the dolly room though because I've recently done the very same thing...and Ikea also came to my rescue too!
Anyway, it all looks really lovely. Now you can relax and get some nice knitted outfits made with all that yarn!

    1. It makes it much easier to find things when you can see through the side of the box Sharon, much better than adding labels I can assure you. :) I honestly don't know what I would have done without my Billy bookcases, Ikea has been a real godsend. :)
Thanks. Hahaha! Not quite ready to relax yet, I still have a few boxes to go through. I just listed a whole pile of toddler shoes (which I originally bought for teddy bears) on eBay, it's taken me two days!!

  6. It looks really good! It must be awesome to find everything within seconds :-). We recently moved, and finally I have a doll room, but organizing it is still a huge work in progress :-).

    1. Thank you Linda, I just wish I had done it years ago before I managed to accumulate so much stuff. You must be thrilled to have a new doll room, it does help when things are all in the same room. :)

  8. It looks great - super organized and everything ^_^
What would we do without those Billys I wonder ?
My hubby has a room full of them. He used the ones with glazed doors on the top to show off his collectables and solid doors on the bottom to hide his rubbish - ahem, other collectables! ;D xx

    1. Hi Carolyn!
Still a bit to go, getting another single Billy tomorrow to put a few more containers in and then it should be finished . . . I hope!!
I have one of those with the glazed top doors in my bathroom, my perfume bottles and other pretty blue glass in the top and towels etc. in the bottom . . . so you see Ikea has me hooked! :)
