Spring is in the Air

Okay spring is almost now into her second month and I have finally stirred from my winter hibernation, but I'm really hoping it won't be too long before Spring actually arrives downunder . . . in all her glory.

I am so looking forward to enjoying warmer days, with soft breezes instead of the freezing winds we have had to contend with this past winter.

The sweet fragrance of mimosa already fills the air (giving me a bad case of runny eyes and sneezing) and the pale pink blossom bestows itself upon the naked branches of the local peach and almond trees.

The days are slowly becoming longer and the skies a brighter shade of blue, but
I just need the sun to shine more than ten lousy minutes!

Well that's enough of my ridiculous whining, I hope you are all doing well, I have managed to catch up with all your recent posts, however, I will simply say thank you to all those that were kind enough to leave me comments on my previous post.

THANK YOU!

As sure as the night must follow day,
As sure as no dawn can ever stay,
As sure as clouds across the sky,
Will always and forever fly,
So surely too, will blackbirds sing,
And flowers bloom when breaks the Spring.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, no matter where you are.

  1. Ooooh I love the image you chose for this post. Such a beautiful piece and lots of magical feels!

It's been an unusually long winter here too for some reason, not that I'm complaining because our winter is probably a lot more enjoyable than what you get where you are!

The weather has been getting a bit hotter during the days here but at least the nights are still nice and cold. Have not needed the air-con on during the night yet.

Here's to hoping more sunshine heading your way soon!

    1. Thank you so much Alasse. I really enjoy looking at beautiful paintings like this for the emotions they provoke and the inspiration they provide, so I am not surprised you like this one too.

It has been really cold this winter, colder than I ever remember so I'm thrilled it's beginning to warm up at last.

  2. I'm glad to hear that spring is coming to you now....although of course it means that autumn is coming here, which I'm really NOT prepared for. I wish summer lasted all year as, even though we've lived here in Spain for 14 years now and the winters are short and not severe, I still feel a sense of 'loss' when the summer ends and autumn comes. I try very hard to just focus on the fact that it's still lovely here, but the nights getting shorter and the light changing to a more hazy glow, really saddens me!!!
Anyway, enough of me whinging, I hope you will now feel inspired to get dollying again now that the winter is leaving you :)
    Big hugs xxx

    1. Seems we sun lovers are the same the world over Sharon. :) I'm still not in the dollying mood, but I will probably feel more like playing once the sun sticks around a bit longer.

  3. This image is so magical <3

Here in Poland days are shorter every day, so the Sun is leaving us and going to You :) You need to be patient - Sun doesn't like aeroplanes and he will walk on food to You :)

  5. I love this painting too - I'm really into fairies, dryads and other spirits. Especially if it's made so well. :)

I really envy you - we have Fall now, it's getting really cold, the days are shorter and the Winter is ahead of us...

And I think Spring is the most beautiful season of the year.

    1. Me too Kamelia. :)

Any season is better than winter, but I agree spring is very pretty with all the blossom on the trees.

  6. Hello Sandi,

The illustration you've chosen for this post is really beautiful.

Spring is beautiful, but for allergic people is terrible. Here we have autumn and I love it. Although it's quite hot yet, that scorching heat that took away my energy and made me be under house arrest has gone. I'm most into autumn and winter, now is when I feel full of energy and want to go out XD

    Enjoy of your spring.

    1. Hi Lily!
Thank you. I know hay-fever can be a problem in spring, but I can put up with anything once I know summer is on its way. :)

  7. Hello!
I am looking for my cardigan, my socks and other warm clothes because it is getting colder over here. We have had some cold nights too and woken up to frosty mornings. I hope that the snow does not come too soon.
    Enjoy the Spring and sunshine!
    Hugs!

    1. Hi Niina!
Oooh I hope you don't get snow too early, I know it looks pretty when it first falls, but it's soooo cold, brrrr!
I am enjoying Spring, we've had a few days of sunshine and warm breezes, just perfect for walking. :)
