It's also International Women's Day 2019. The day is aimed at helping nations worldwide eliminate discrimination against women. It also focused on helping women gain full and equal participation in global development.
Purple is the traditional colour to wear on this day, however, PINK will have to do today . . . it's Friday!
Here's a handful of inspiration for the seamstresses who enjoy sewing for their dolls.
Big hugs to you all,

Happy International Women's Day to you! I actually didn't know about it to be honest but just before Hubby left for work this morning, he gave me a hug and told me what day it was and that I was his inspiration. He can be such a sweetheart sometimes, hehe.
ReplyDeleteI also did not know that the traditional colour for today was purple, my favourite colour!
Love these outfits quite a lot. That last one, one of our work shirts is that exact shade of pink. It's a new colour they recently added to the uniforms. I would love to try and sew that second last one. I love the design with all that tulle (I've been in a tulle mood lately!).
Hi Alasse,
DeleteOh that is sweet, mine wouldn't have a clue what day it is! LOL!
Well I think a lovely purple (or shade of) in tulle would look wonderful on one of your dolls . . . now get to it girl. :)
Big hugs,

Very beautiful inspirations <3 <3 Hugs :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Urszula, I hope it inspires you too!

Hello Sandy,
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous these pictures are. Happy woman's day
Giac
Thank you Giac, yes and I love the gowns to be in my wardrobe! :)

Here we are making this day a big deal since there has been many crimes against women lately. This day is not to celebrate but to commemorate and I'm glad you didn't say it was a celebration but a day aimed to help with equality.
ReplyDeleteI love the first dresses, I'm definitely more of a pastel pink girl myself.
Oh there's no celebration yet Alejandra, there's a long way to go before that happens!
DeleteThey are all pretty, but like you I prefer some more than others. :)
Big hugs,

Happy Women's Day :)! All dresses look great, but the first one is simply amazing! If only I could sew like this...
ReplyDeleteAnd you too Chiriann. It would be nice to sew "big girl" dresses such as these, but I have never been keen on making anything life size, I prefer to design and sew in miniature . . . it's quicker and dolls stand still for fittings. :)
DeleteBig hugs,

Beautiful dresses, such a great colour too. Did you see the lovely pink dress that Helen Mirran wore to the Oscars? She looked gorgeous and very elegant.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend and Happy International Women's Day!

I think all doll collectors have a passion for fashion Sharon and can always appreciate a pretty gown. However, I didn't watch the Oscars, but I bet she looked a treat, she always does. :)
DeleteOh you too my friend!
Big hugs,

Hope you had an amazing International Women's Day! Love the dresses, especially the fourth one!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
I hope you did too Niina. They are all pretty, and I like them all . . . if only I had the figure to wear them. :)
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,

I hope you had a great Women's Day. :)
ReplyDeleteFirst dress you showed is just amazing!
I hope you had a fun International Women's Day. Gosh those dresses are inspirational. I always try to sew some dresses but it is so hard to decide the fabric and model.
