Where Does the Time Go?

I cannot believe it's been two weeks since I last posted, but I guess that's because I have been so engrossed in other things . . . like planning an overseas trip for 2020. However, I will post more about that later.

This morning I had a little convo with my friend Musume, and she asked about the posability of my IT dolls. Rather than taking heaps of photos (which I have little patience for right now) I thought it simpler to just show this.

Not all IT dolls have ankles that move like my IT Airways Poppy Parker, some have fixed flat feet, while others have fixed high heeled feet.

Personally, I prefer the flexibility of her feet the best of the three, as it allows me to dress her casually in a feminine ballet flat or a loafer for lazy Sundays, or take it up a notch with stilleto heels and a evening gown making her ready for fine dining or the dance floor.

For those who collect these dolls, I'd be interested in knowing what type of feet you prefer and what type of clothes you prefer your dolls to wear. Well that does it for today . . . back to searching for hotels to stay at!

Big hugs,
X

  1. I like the idea of being able to chose between high heeled and flat feet, especially if you don't have to take the feet off to do it. (Spare feet and hands are the kind of things I put somewhere safe and never see again.)
Where do you plan on going for your holiday?

    1. Me too, I really like this option, but so many of the IT collectors don't agree with me. Oh I know what you mean Rachael, I have had spare parts for many of my BJD's that I have either lost because they've fallen off unnoticed or I have left them in the boxes they came in, never to see daylight again!

All will be revealed in good time, but it's somewhere really nice. :)

  2. I feel like the whole month of June just sped right by!

I appreciate the flexibility of feet that can move to wear both heeled and flat shoe options, so I enjoyed seeing your poseability post. :)

    1. Hi JS!
Yes, you just need to blink and you've lost a month. Actually the whole year is moving so fast, I only just got over Christmas and the next one seems not too far off now!!

It does save a lot of worrying having them like this rather than seperate feet that you have to change about. I'm glad you agree and have enjoyed the post. :)

  3. I like flexibility in what kind of shoes a doll can wear, although I'm not a fan of bendable toes, like I've seen on some IT dolls. I have two Tonner dolls that have the spare feet, but I'm pretty sure I have all the feet accounted for! I have a dresser drawer just for Tonner stuff.

I like 1800s and early 1900s clothes for my dolls the best, but they are harder to make than modern clothes.

    1. I have a few IT dolls, but I have never seen bendable toes Barb. You must post a link sometime. :) I have seen jointed fingers on some BJD's and actually have a doll with them myself.

Perhaps one day, I'll get to go through all my boxes and put all the parts I find into one box. You certainly sound like you have it or sorted. :)

I like period costumes too, but unless I make them myself I don't have much success in dressing them in costumes. I can't seem to find anyone who makes them for IT's Poppy Parker, so if you ever come across someone please let me know. I'm not really in the mood for sewing right now.

    2. Ask and you shall receive! Here's a link to an eBay auction for a Fashion Royalty 16" Tulabelle doll, where you can see a hinge right before her toes start. For anyone reading this after the auction expires, I've seen at least two Tulabelle dolls that have this feature on their feet, so that's a good place to start looking if you want to see it.

I love the Tulabelle face mold! If I was sure I wanted another 16" doll, and if I could find one at a good price, I would probably get one. In the auction above, the seller is asking $275USD for a nude doll! :O

    3. I couldn't get the link to work, but I did find this http://www.dollpeddlar.com/tulabelle-modern-love-bmc-box-stand/tulabelle-and/integrity-toys-p-40661.html if you're interested Barb,

  5. I agree, where on earth did spring go? It seems to have gone straight into summer from winter without any respite in between! And June flew by, it really really did!
You have me intrigued now as to where you're going overseas in 2020! I can't wait for you to tell us :)

    1. Hi Sharon!
It seems the older I get, the quicker the time flies . . . or perhaps it's that time becomes more precious the closer we get to the end of the line?

Unfortunately not Spain, but it could be close. :)

  6. Good luck with planning your trip - it sounds great! Yeah, the time goes by MUCH too fast - I'm already in the middle of my holidays. Just one and the half of the week and it's back to work for me...
I guess the option with the feet for both high and flat heels is the best. When it comes to my bjd I only have flat feet for both Ilix and Persefona and I sometimes regret it - so many fantastic shoes they cannot wear...

    1. Thanks Chriann, I'm sure I will. I hope you are enjoying yours too! :)

Me too, I have never bothered to purchase high heeled feet for BJD's. But I guess that's because most of my BJD's are children or fantasy animals. :)

  7. Hi there! I prefer articulated ankles, for the same reason as you: versatility. However, the articulation on some dolls (*cough* Mattel) is a little bit weak and the doll doesn't stand on her own very well.

    1. Hi MC, There are very few fashion dolls that can stand on their own, it doesn't seem to matter how expensive or inexpensive they are. Though one can be lucky with the IT girls with these feet. :)

  8. Oh how exciting! An overseas trip! I hope you are able to find a good hotel. The last trip overseas I went on was back in 2009!! Canada and Japan and New Zealand (South Island). I would love to go to Japan and New Zealand (North Island) again.

I think I prefer the flat feet with the ankle joints. I'm not a huge fan of the fixed heel feet as I find they are harder to pose or stand on their own than the ones with flat feet.

This was a great look at the IT body.

    1. Yes it is Alasse, we are visiting two countries, spending two weeks in each, but not until next year. :)

      I agree and thanks.
