Photoshoot: Marina

This morning I spent a little more time with my pretty Marina and after dressing her and tying her hair back with a ribbon, I thought it was time for a photoshoot ~

As you can see, her hair is absolutely gorgeous, it's very full with just the right amount of wave and a lovely sheen.

I still haven't done anything about her eyebrows, but I think Marina would make a wonderful Snow White given the right costuming.

She has the most beautiful face. When I look at her lips and the way they have been sculpted and painted, I think some of the BJD artists could learn something from her . . . there is absolutely no need for a black line to be painted across these lips!

Well that's it for today . . . hope your weekend is off to a good start too!
Big hugs,
X

  1. Aww, this is the exact thing that I thought - she would be perfect Snow White! The contrast between blue eyes and raven-black hair looks great. She is such a wonderful girl!
    Have fantastic weekend!

    1. Thank you Chiriann. One sees a lot of raven haired girls with brown eyes, but I not very many with this combination and I love that she came with blue eyes, I think she looks stunning.

  2. I was thinking she looks like Snow White! She needs some kind of Snow White outfit!
I agree with that black line across the lips, especially when it ends in little comma shaped bits at the corners. Only really looks good on very cartoony dolls

    1. I'm thinking about it Rachael, but I don't want to do the Disney version of her clothes.
That black line is something that puts me off purchasing a doll, and the other is badly sculpted hands. UCK! If the lips are sculpted with decent definition, they shouldn't need to do it.

    2. Her face would be all wrong for the Disney version. She really would need something more realistic.

    1. Thank you MC, they are my favourite photos of her too! I don't often take really close up photos and I am pleased with the way they turned out.

  4. She also has a really sweet profile. The lips are really detailed. I like the shape of them. And you're right, I can imagine her as Snow White. She has the look of the character already and exudes sweetness.

    1. Yes, I love her cute little button nose Alasse and her lips are beautiful too. I made some sketches of her dress this afternoon, but I have a busy week coming up so it won't get sewn for a while yet. :)

    1. Thank you Joanna. Sometimes when you look at a doll again after a little time has passed, you see in her in a completely different light and this is what has happened with this doll. I always thought she was pretty, but it's only now that I see her as Snow White. :)
