They are here at last! They left from Endicott, New York on the 10th, then via Chicago, Illinois to departure from Los Angeles, California on the 17th. They arrived in Melbourne on the 19th, had to clear customs before being delivered this morning.
I am very happy with them overall, the vinyl is smooth, their joints are firm, but work well and they stand unaided. I like their eyes and the clothes which are nicely finished, but I'm a little unsure about their hair, it's really fine and I'm not certain how well it will style, but I'll let you know later.
They're so different! Even their eyebrows are different! They really are cute.
ReplyDeleteThey are much cuter in person RM. I shall have to take some proper photos and try capturing their natural beauty.

Welcome little ladies!
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Are they Patsy, Patsyette or Ann Estelle dolls?
Thank you PP. Both of them are Patsy dolls made by Tonner for Effanbee. The black hair is a basic so she just has the jointed knees with stright arms, the other one has a lot more joints, I believe it's an Ann Estelle body.

Congrats! The girls are adorable. I love their eyes too, so expressive and the face is very sweet. The clothing is nice and looks great on them. I thought their hair looked really soft. I hope it won't be too difficult for you to style how you like.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alasse. I was so pleased to find the back closures on their clothes were press studs and not Velcro. The bows are stitched to their wigs, so they will need to be removed and attached to clips, before I can get the comb right through their fine hair. I did manage to even out the black haired doll's fringe though, it was actually longer on her left side (on the right when facing her).

Thanks Linda. Now I'll have to do more sewing, they will need more than what they're wearing, we all know little girls love clothes! :)

They're very cute. I think I like the raven haired one better, but the other one has a bunny, so I'm torn.
ReplyDeleteThanks MC, yes I understand that it's a toss up. I like them both for different reasons. :)

ReplyDeleteCute. I am curious about the next entries with them. Hugs
Thank you ZL. Won't be for a little while, I need to work out their personalities before I can share a story. :)

Congratulations on getting those two cuties! They look somewhat different in person, especially the brunette. I also didn't realize that the brunette only had bend knees. That body was kind of an in-between body, before the extra-jointed blond that you have, and after the straight arms and legs body of the original Ann Estelles. You have given me the desire to take out my own Ann Estelle crew and "play" with them again. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Barb. I found their eyelashes being the same length rather than graduated like real lashes, looked a little odd, so they had a small shaping trim today and look much better. Thanks for all the info about the bodies, it's always good to learn about a doll's progression. I am glad I helped to make you feel like that, they really are a nice doll to play with. :)

They are lovely! And so expressive! I can't wait to see more.

I was so lucky to find them Brenda, so they will be very spoilt little girls. :)

Very cute indeed Sandi! They are both very different. I couldn't choose who I liked best though....maybe a mixture of the two, the dark hair of one and the green eyes of the other :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you will enjoy them very much.
Big hugs xxx
Thanks Sharon. The size of these dolls is perfect for me and now I have had a chance to "play" with them, I'm really happy that I found them when I did. They fit in well with my Maisie (iMDA 2.6 Colette ~ Normal Skin) so hopefully they will be able to share some clothes, though their limbs are more stocky and feet are bigger. The blonde's lovely green eyes seem to have a little less of a wide eyed stare now that I have trimmed & shaped her eyelashes. Still have to find suitable names for them though.

Congratulations! I'm happy they arrived safely. :)

Such pretty girls! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteHope you can figure out someway to style their hair. They look cute in the way they have their hair now, though. :) I love the blond one, she has a wonderful outfit and the bunny is sweet.
Hugs!
Thanks Niina. I've removed their bows, which has made it easy for me to comb their hair now and it seems to sit nicely. At first I thought the really fine hair may have become a problem, but it hasn't, thank heavens. :)

Hi Sandi!
ReplyDeleteCongrats for getting these two beautiful ladies. And that rabbit is very cute ❤
Greetings ^^
Hi Lily!
DeleteThank you. It's not often one actually receives a bunny with a doll, but I agree it makes a cute prop for taking photos.
