DD's New Look

After a visit to the hairdresser for a wash, condition, cut and style, you can actually see her eyebrows now!

She also has new underwear, socks, shoes and a ribbon for her hair. The wig has been glued back on.

Next on the agenda is a fancy new dress.

  2. Oh you tamed that wild hair! I love the style it is in and it does look lovely and shiny now compared to when you first got her. This soft white outfit is a nice colour on her. I didn't even know she had eyebrows either so it's neat to be able to see that!

    1. Her curls were quite tangled and felt a little harsh, but once I had the wig off I washed it with my own shampoo, then added conditioner so the brush went through easily. It was far too long, so I cut a good two inches of the length before styling it . . . then a little dab of hot glue, a tiny adjustment so we could see her eyebrows and voila!
Thank you Alasse, I agree, I think white is her colour, with just a hint of blue. :)

  3. Miss DD, you look already quite fancy with your new hairstyle and your new undies. Those blue shoes and the little flowers on her undies are a nice touch.

    1. Why thank you PP, it's nice you think my mummy didn't do too bad a job on me. :)

I was lucky with the shoes, I have the same ones in pale pink and lemon as well, so she may end up with a couple of different coloured outfits.

    1. Thank you RM. I want to design clothes that are similar to those used on the paper dolls for my "real life" Dolly Dingle. :)

    1. Thank you Barb, it's amazing what a little love and attention can do for a "funny peculiar" little doll. I am quite pleased with how she's turned out. :)

  6. Her hair looks much better now. Did you restyle it, or is it a whole new wig?

    1. Thanks Rachael. It's the same wig re-styled, but the photos were taken in a different room so the colour looks a little different.

  8. Thank you so much Linda. The boudoir was actually borrowed from my other blog, Fleur & Ruben, which has been rather neglected recently . . . that's another story that I'll back to later. I'm so happy you like her. :)

  9. She already looks lovely and very much at home! I suspect she might end up getting a little spoiled? Her undies are pretty and the wig is much better now.
    Big hugs xxx

    1. Thanks again Sharon. :) You suspect right, I am much happier with her now, and for such a tiny doll (9") she has so much personality. Having all the paper dolls as inspiration, I doubt she will ever have a shortage of clothes. :)

  10. She has such a cute face, I love her cheeks! For some reason, she looks to me like an illustration that could have been use in commercials from the 50s or 60s.

Hope you have a great weekend.

    1. Me too MC, sort of makes you feel like giving them a little pinch. :) That's not surprising, Dolly Dingle began as an illustration, but that was long before the 50's.
Weekend was quiet, but very enjoyable thank you, I hope yours was too!.

  11. Oooh, now she definitely looks better! And happier, I must say. I'm sure she doesn't miss her previous haircut ;). And her little sock are adorable, just as the rest of the undies :). She really is cuteness incarnated...

    1. Thank you Chiriann, I am sure she doesn't, who in their right mind would enjoy tangled hair!
      I like that . . . cuteness incarnated . . . I guess she is. :)
