Fat Headed Dolls

Since posting "What a Face" I have been doing some more research and you can find all the information about the Holala dolls on this website it's their home. These are vinyl dolls with printed faces and rooted hair. Those shown below are called "Three Little Pigs".

In doing this research I have come across some other rather strange doll names like Popola dolls, these (below) are also made of vinyl, and are available on Etsy and eBay. They sell for around the $100 mark and you can purchase them blank.
I have also seen names like Ododo doll and finally found them here. These are made in China by Strawberry Planet. Priced at 239,00€ they are certainly expensive for a PVC and vinyl doll that has a printed face!

Then there is a Dodo Doll called Anako shown in Gugu Moda's Etsy store which is a BJD made by Anastasia Georgiou, whose information I found on the J-Pop Dolls website.

Then there were these other very peculiar dolls (in a funny and cute sort of way), some of which are BJD's like the ones below, and others have a Japanese body. These are also available on Etsy, and are shipped from Ppinky Dolls in Athens, Greece.

Is it any wonder a girl get's confused!!!

  3. Wooah! It's incedible, how many types of dolls are there and with every passing day you can learn something new... Ododos price is definitely high. I wonder how popular are they? For that price I would choose a BJD...

    1. So many, it would never be possible to count them all! I agree, I think I would prefer the Ppinky BJD.

  5. Yes Linda they are all cute, but as cute as they are, I think I will be giving them a miss. I could purchase two or three vinyl dolls for the price of that Ododo or better still another small BJD.
    Big hugs,

  6. There's just so much to choose from and so many different brands of dolls that it becomes impossible to keep up. I like the little doll by Ppinkydolls in Athens, I have a doll by her.
    Big hugs xxx

    1. Yes Niina all adorable, now I have to go look for ddung doll! The last two are both BJD's so it's no wonder. :)

  8. I've noticed the current trend with big headed dolls and smaller bodies getting more popular recently. They are all cute looking dolls though although not really something I would collect personally. I think the only big head, small body dolls I own are the 5 Pullip dolls I have currently. I rarely take photos of them though as they are hard to pose. I always end up too frustrated!

    1. I don't actually think the trend is new Alasse, as I've noticed some photos of these date back to when I was first interested in Blythe back around 2010-15. I just never noticed them, but then I wasn't as into dolls then either. :)
I say, to each his own, I very much doubt if we will ever all like or collect the same dolls, but as long as the dolls we do collect makes us all happy, then so be it. :)
