The next photo was taken after the first trim. I probably took off a generous inch, maybe slightly more, and also cut a fringe which is currently in a curler. I really like how the three colours blended, it looks so pretty and will go so well with her new dress. Speaking of which, I purchased it from Jan on Etsy as I was totally disappointed with the dress I made . . . the satin was very stiff and didn't sit as well as I would have liked, so needless to say, I binned it! Then I saw a pretty cardi made by Evonne on Etsy so I bought that too! No-one can say I am not supporting local, these girls are both in Australia. :)
Of course once these items had arrived I realised I needed white boots . . . and wouldn't you know it, I had every other colour Blythe boots under the sun, but NO WHITE! So it was back to Etsy again where I found the perfect pair made by Saori who is also in Australia. All three stores are also offering FREE DELIVERY to Aussie buyers, which is a big bonus as overseas shipping costs have been crippling and have put me right off making any further purchases from overseas. (Yeah I know famous last words.)
Well that's my lot for now, I'm carving up a face today!
I like it so far!
ReplyDeleteThanks RM. :)
DeleteBeautiful hair color. Hugs
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you like it. :)
DeleteI'm pretty sure if you could make a reroot come out even without trimming, we would have to burn you as a witch!
ReplyDeleteThose colours look great together!
I hope it's not a real life actual human's face you're carving up lol
Hahaha! Thanks Rachael, oh heaven forbid no, just trying out my new tools on Blythe.
DeleteBig hugs.

DeleteGrandes abrazos,

I am waiting as patiently as I can for the big reveal.
ReplyDeleteI still have a way to go yet PP. :)
DeleteThat colour is beautiful Sandi, you've made such a lovely job of it. I had a look at the Etsy stores too of course.....I'd not been on Etsy in ages, should have left it that way too as I've now seen lots of nice things on there, very tempting.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing how this lovely hair turns into a pretty full Blythe :)
Stay safe, big hugs
Sharon xxx
Thanks Sharon, I'm happy with the colour, it's just as I imagined it would be. Oh there's always temptation in there, but that's not always a bad thing, especially when I can't be bothered sewing myself.
DeleteYou too, big hugs,
X
The color of the hair is absolutely lovely and they look great! I look forward to see the rest :)!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Chiriann, hopefully later this week I will have her finished. :)
DeleteBig hugs,

Thank you Sandra. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. Hopefully I'll reveal her soon. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colour! I love the final look. And I can't wait to see the front. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Joanna. It will be a while before she's completed. :)
DeleteBig hugs,

Oh! I can't wait to see her fringe. I love he blue. In the US we call a fringe "bangs". HAha! Fringe makes more sense. I have never tried doing a re-root. I had some Crissy dolls for awhile and there is a big trend in re-rooting their hair, but I never bonded with those dolls even though I had played with them as a girl. Anyway, awesome job on the re-root!

Hello there! Love the blue color! Looks great! Look forward to seeing her with her cute outfit and all!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Oh wow, that turned out so good. The colour is amazing. Actually reminds me a little of the sea to be honest. I just love how it turned out and can't wait to see it on your girls. I honestly wish there more Australian dressmakers and wig makers for BJDs to be honest. I need a specific wig but the only ones I can find are based in China. And we know how restrictions right now mean not a lot can come through from overseas.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alasse, I am so pleased with it. I guess when you look at the names (Oceanic, Sea Foam and Green Sea) for each of the colours used, you are spot on! :)
DeleteI used to ell on Etsy a long time ago but the new changes they kept bringing in made me give it away, perhaps others felt the same. However, I still look there first when I want anything. :)
Big hugs,

Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteThe colours of the hair match perfectly, really beautiful. And you have made a good job at trimming that hair. So good from you to support local sellers.
Greetings ^^
