Keep Calm and Carry On

Although I have been keeping myself busy with my dolls, I have also been appreciating my garden and the miniature sunflowers which my daughter gave me to plant a few weeks ago. I have grown the tall ones in the past, however I didn't realise they came in this size, nor did I realise there were other colours.

My daughter gave me both yellow and red, but the red ones are yet to flower. I have always thought yellow sunflowers were bright and cheerful. Simply looking at them makes me happy, so I thought today I'd share mine with you in the hope they would do the same for you.

  3. Your Sunflowers are beautiful and I like the saying that you have shared as well. Hopefully the farmers fields that we have in our area will grow these; and later in the summer we can enjoy all the beauty.

  4. Gardening is great - even if you don't have as much time. The sunflowers look lovely. We are a bit early for sunflowers, but I have loads of tulips and purple rock cress.

    1. I think as we are confined more and more by this darn virus Mia, the garden is a great relief. Oh I love tulips, you must share some photos! I don't know what rock cress is, but it sounds pretty. :)

  5. Beautiful sunflowers. I've always loved them. Their bright, cheery colour and the way they seem to open happily towards the sun.

    1. Me too Alasse, and I also love Gerberas, it's just a pity they don't have a lovely fragrance, but I guess, like us, they can't have everything. :)

  6. Hello and such beautiful sunflowers! Tried to grow some sunflowers at our cottage, but the wild bunnies loved them a lot. :D So far I just enjoy the large fields of sunflowers on a nearby island every late summer.
    Big Hugs!

    1. Hi Niina,
That is a shame, bunnies have a habit of eating flowers . . . and vegetables!! Fortunately we don't have bunnies here at home, but we do have them on our land at Beechworth, where they dig big borrows. Hubby is fixing that though, he empties his Porta Potti down the holes before he comes home. :)
Still you are lucky to have the fields of them to enjoy.

    1. Thank you Chiriann, to be totally honest I am not much of a gardener myself, I just tell hubby where to plant things. But I do enjoy the results of his efforts immensely. :)

  8. Sunflowers are lovely plants Sandi, but I didn't realise they came in other colours either! I really hope you'll share the red ones once they're out, because I'd love to see them.
Take good care of yourself and stay safe.
    Big hugs xxx

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed them Sharon. I will most definitely share photos of the red ones once they are out . . . not long to wait now.
Oh don't worry we are, and I do hope you, Brian and the family stay safe too. It's terrible what's happening in the UK and all over Europe. I'm just glad we are in Oz right now.

  9. Thank you Linda, I think people who don't love them must be a little strange as these are such happy flowers. I didn't either until my daughter gave me these to plant. You are most welcome.
