Some time ago I thought about purchasing one of these dolls, but wasn't sure which. I thought about it for so long, I eventually took them off my wish list altogether and forgot about them. However, having nothing better to do after Christmas than browse other dolly blogs, I came across them again, this time I saw them in a completely different light.
I hadn't recalled their height and when I noticed they were just 14.5" tall, I thought to myself "these dolls are the right height for me", so I browsed some more, looking at what others had done with them . . . some of the customised ones were really stunning! Anyway to cut a long story short I ordered, not just one, but two.

The site from which I ordered them, was in the UK (My Doll Best Friend). Firstly, because I had purchased from this site before and it was the only store where I could find both the dolls I wanted in stock. Secondly, and crazy as it may seem, because it also worked out cheaper and quicker to order from them,
I think both dolls will be so much fun to dress, probably in clothes that are casual and more suitable for play time, but perhaps a few others which will be very pretty and feminine, for when there's a party to attend. In the meantime I have knitted each of them a little day dress with a crochet hemline, and am currently working on a co-ordinating jacket.

Have any of my readers purchased any of these dolls? I would love to hear what you think of them and perhaps you could share some recent photos . . . I would love to see them.
Never purchased one, but I do like their little faces!
ReplyDeleteThey are a very happy looking doll RM, I think that's what drew me to them in the first place. It makes me happy when I see a doll smiling back at me.

I found them for sale at Ruby Red Galleria; they are cute dolls! I saw a couple that I wouldn't mind bringing home, but I don't know if I want to add a doll their size to my collection. I wonder if they would make good older siblings for my Ann Estelle dolls. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteThey are quite captivating aren't they Barb, like most Dianna Effner sculpted dolls, they have perfect children's faces. I think these dolls will be fun to dress and could well make an older sibling for Ann Estelle. Are all you AE's 10" tall?

All of my Ann dolls are 10", except for baby sister Lilah, who I think is 5" in a seated position? Her little legs are curved, so she has to be posed sitting down.
DeleteThey have very friendly faces. Instant cheer up :). I've never seen those before, I have to check them out. Happy new year by the way!
ReplyDeleteOh I agree with you Mia, definitely and instant cheer up! I think you would really like these dolls, they are a good size to make clothes for and pose well for photos. They are hard vinyl which is perfect for customising too.
DeleteAnd to you too!

Hello!
ReplyDeleteI have heard about these dolls, but I do not own one or seen them on the market over here in Sweden. I do think that these dolls are cute, the right size and have a lot of lovely outfits. Visited their site and their faces have a happy expression, which I like. Bella, the special holiday edition is just adorable with her black hair with highlights in rainbow. Look forward to meeting the two you ordered and see how they look in their new outfits!
Hugs!
Hi Niina! I looked and even considered Bella for a little while, but ended up choosing these two. I may even add to these if I am as happy as I hope to be when they arrive. I don't like having even numbers, so it will be one or three more. LOL! I will do a review.

Thanks Linda, I finished one cardigan yesterday to match the green dress and hopefully will finish the other today. I think there are quite few shown around the blogs and forums, I did check the ones you mentioned too. Do you think you may buy one?
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,

Well I shouldn't either, but dolls have to find homes somewhere. Go on, I dare you to be a little naughty. :)
ReplyDeleteI guess this is the first time I've heard about those dolls, but they are lovely! And you were right to get two - one would be definitely lonely ;). I love their faces, they look so lively and friendly... Congrats on getting them! It's a great way to start a new year :)
ReplyDeleteThey have been around for a little while, but not many people know about them as they aren't available in all countries. I don't know how any doll could be lonely at my place, but all dolls need best friend. :) Thank you Chiriann, I agree.

Oh my, they are beautiful! But, I simply cannot at a new doll size to my ever growing hoard! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYes Phyllis they are. You know that it's said "change is as good as a holiday" so one little doll would make it a pretty cheap little holiday. LOL!

ReplyDeleteI discovered these dolls very recently thanks to Instagram, I don't have any but I really like them, I'm looking forward to seeing them when they arrive, they will be beautiful with the dresses you have made for them.
Kisses
Both dolls have arrived now Maribel, and they are both lovely, though not quite a good at posing as I though they would be (joints are a little loose on my Sara). They are a good size to dress and I think I shall enjoy sewing & knitting for them. :) Thank you!
