Who Came Home In 2020

I sort of went a little crazy with the dolls in 2020, especially Tonner . . . I managed to bring home quite a haul ~

Tonner:
Patricia and Lacey (both Patsy's)
Kitty and Gale (both Tiny Kitty Collier's)
Sindy (Bridal Bliss)
Agatha Primrose (Want To Dance)
Tyler Wentworth (Party of the Season)
Betsy McCall 14" (Welcome Back C1996)

Ellowyne Wilde
Lizette Dionne (Ellowyne Wilde)
Penn (Ellowyne Wilde)
Prudence Moody (Ellowyne Wilde)
Amber Stanhope (Ellowyne Wilde)

Evangeline Ghastly
Angelique (Evangeline Ghastly)
Parnilla Ghastly (Evangeline Ghastly)
Mortimer Mort (Evangeline Ghastly)

Madame Alexander:
Cissy (21" Cissy)
Milly (10" Cissette)
Elisabeth Rose (13" Renoir Pink)
Alice Delphine (13" Renoir Blue)

Integrity Toys:
Poppy Parker and Ginger Gilroy

Mixed Play Dolls;
Evie and Mal (Disney Decendants)
Suzanne (Minouche)
Willa and Kendall (Wellie Wishers)
Naomi, Caroline, Lucy, Barbara (Paola Reina Las Amigas)
DeeDee Garnet (1997 Dolly Dingle Garnet by Karen Kennedy for Goebel)
April (12" Pretty as Can Be Key to my Heart by The Doll Maker)
Lauryce (Hearts 4 Hearts)

Finally, there was an assortment of cute Asian dolls:
Petunia (Faux Holala)
Violetta (Ixdoll Mui-Chan Hachichi)
Snowdrop (Monst)
and two blank Faux Holala dolls for me to customise.

Total = 40 new arrivals.

I had hoped to add Rufus Rutter to my Ellowyne Wilde family of dolls before the end of the year, but I kept getting pipped at the post with my bidding on eBay. I consoled myself by purchasing Kitty and Patience instead . . . giving myself a nice start to 2021!

Still, I really need to move some of the dolls that need love and attention on to new homes, so I may concentrate on listing those before I even think of looking at adding any more. I have updated my wish list though. :)

I will also have my new kitchen cupboards and appliances (Christmas pressies from hubby) to assemble and paint, so I can create my kitchen diorama. I had so much fun building dioramas this past year and it made staying at home so much more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been.

What about you? Do you have your eye on a particular doll or any other special dolly plans in the works for 2021?

  1. 40 dolls! That's an impressive collection. I haven't been buying many dolls these past couple of years, not only because I've cut my budget, but nothing has really excited me. I think I got like 5 new dolls this year, 2 of them were gifts. I just want to focus on creating new backgrounds and furniture, and also enjoying the dolls I already have.
Wish you a happy New Year, which is just a few hours away for you. Wish you a 2021 filled with health and dolls.

    1. Thanks MC, but I'm beginning to get over crowded. It's good that you are so focussed on what you want to do in 2021 and I shall look forward to seeing all that you create. I really need to show some discipline and take photos of those who need to go. Although I have a few coming already, I don't plan to purchase as many dolls this year...key word being PLAN. Ha ha ha!
Happy New Year to you too, let's hope it's a healthier year for us all.
      Big hugs,

  2. Hello and Happy New Year! Wish you the best for 2021!
And that was a long list with new cuties that arrived to you! Lovely to hear that you have a project for the New Year too, look forward to following the progress. No dolly-plans yet, but more room would be nice to get so I can start to make some projects. Those tiny ones are simple and I still have a diorama in mind. And blog more...
See you in 2021. Big Hugs!

    1. Hi there Niina, and the same to you too!
Yes, more than I had ever expected, but all the money saved by not going out had to go somewhere. LOL! I think we all wish we had more room to fill with dolls, that's where my friend had the right idea with adding those portable school rooms, but you need lots of land to do that . . . do you have extra land around your holiday cottage? I do hope you get to make your diorama, they are so much fun to build and it's easier to decorate a diorama than a home and a lot less expensive. :)
      Stay safe Niina, big hugs,
      X

  3. I hope your 2021 is better than your 2020. Hopefully no more wildfires, and hopefully an end to this coronavirus crap (I'm not holding my breath on that second one). Best of luck finding Rufus; you definitely need him!

    1. Well as is the way, just when you think you have it all in the bag ... two months without local transmission of Covid and no deaths, we have new cases brought in from over the NSW border! Not the best start to 2021, but hopefully our state's strategy brings it under control quickly. I feel for everyone in the northern hemisphere, where it's raging out of control, it must be very scary. We are so thankful we live in Australia.
Well it would be good to find my Rufus, but the year is just beginning, so plenty of time to find him yet.
Take care RM, stay safe, healthy and happy!

  4. That is definitely an impressive haul, Xanadu! Mr. BTEG gave me my grail doll for Christmas, so I don't have any special dolls I want in 2021. I'll be posting about my new doll soon! I think at this point, I am mainly looking for male dolls, but I'm picky, so they can be hard to find.

Dioramas and furniture are definitely on my 2021 to-do list! Looking forward to seeing your kitchen.

    1. Thanks, but hubby is not so impressed Barb, although he says very little to deter me. LOL! Oh that is wonderful, nothing more impressive than being given your grail doll for Christmas, you do have a special guy there you know. I shall look forward to your next post. Mmm, male dolls are definitely harder to find, but the hunt can be great fun. :)

Dioramas seem to be the common goal for most of us this year. I haven't even unpacked the kitchen yet, it's a bit daunting as there are so many pieces to assemble and paint, but I'll get there, it just may take me all year!!
All the very best for the coming year, big hugs,

  6. Wow... It might have been a very strange year, but it was certainly fantastic in terms of new dolls coming! An impresive list! Congratulations, once again :)!
I don't realy have any doll plans for the 2021, but I have several nendoroids preordered ;). And one figma - a bit expensive, but special ;)

    1. Thank you so much Chiriann, yes it has been very strange, but our hobby has certainly kept us out of the doldrums quite a bit, so in that respect I think we have all been very lucky. :)

I think you and Lily could be great friends, she also has lots of Nendoroids, do you follow her blog at all? I do like the little critters, but I only have one and one Figma as well, though they both have lots going for them and I can see why you would be drawn to them. I hope your arrive soon. :)

  7. Yes and I never really intended on bringing home that many, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. While some binged on toilet paper, I binged on dolls . . . at least I still have something to show for it all! LOL! The Tonner dolls are all gorgeous, it's just a pity I came late to discovering them.

Oh you are a naughty girl, we are both as bad as each other . . . now I can't wait to see them. It's been a long time since I have ordered any real BJD's but I do enjoy all the ones I have. Which ones have you been considering? Oh me too, I have so much fabric and I swore I wouldn't order more, but I did yesterday, just 6 fat quarters though.

I will post photos of the kitchen pieces soon, so you can see the amount of work ahead of me. It's probably going to take me all year!
Oh you too Linda, stay safe, happy and healthy!

  8. I haven't done that yet Linda, but I cannot say I haven't been tempted. :) Oh I love Iplehouse girls, I don't have any of the big girls but I do own quite a few BID's and KID's (see my BJD Human Dolls). Whichever one you choose I can assure you won't be disappointed. I also love Meadow Dolls, but they are not always available. Let's know who you decide on. :)

  9. Oh my gosh, how many dolls have you bought! I would not even have room to store them all, I would like to buy a Nancy of the first, of the 68-72 but only if I get it at a good price if I am not satisfied with the ones I have and perhaps an afro Nancy with a Lesly.

    1. I have many dolls Maribel, so many they are beginning to take over more and more rooms in my home. I hope you find your desired Nancy dolls this year and at prices that make you happy. :)
