She's Arrived!

Eira was pre-ordered on 26th January, shipped from the UK on the 18th February, arriving today, just eight days later and ahead of schedule. Whereas my boots that I ordered for these gals on 17th January, which were promptly shipped from my supplier on the 18th, and finally departed Moscow on 28th, still haven't arrived . . . crazy slow postage, but I am allowing for Covid delays on this parcel.

The limited edition boxes are unlike the open editions, and look quite different to any that I have seen before. They are very substantial and much too nice to dispose. Inside I found her accessories taped (not stapled) to the side of the box, along with her Certificate of Authenticity (she is #91 of 150 dolls limited to the European market).

Her clothes are nicely made, although the top and pants had Velcro (which you know I hate). The jacket is gorgeous and fully lined, her accessories are also nicely finished and best of all, she is much better IRL than in her promo shots!

I haven't undone her hair yet and will probably leave it as it is, for now at least.

I'm still finding the heavy eyeliner a bit difficult to deal with, but her blue eyes are so pretty. Initially I had plans for changes to be made to this doll, but that was  before I had received her, I am having second thoughts now.

I may just keep her as she is and buy another basic Fashion Friend to complete my trio. Of course that means I shall probably look for two more Limited Editions down the track so Eira has friends of her own. (Perhaps that is simply me thinking of another excuse to buy another couple of dolls? 🀣)

  3. Oh, she's so cute! When I saw the box, I thought this would be a BJD or some doll from the Pullip family.
I don't mind the heavy eyeliner, I think it makes her eyes pop. However, I do understand why some might not like it in a doll that's supposed to represent a very young child. I do like her blushed cheeks and nose, it makes her look like she's outside in the cold weather.

    Wish you a lovely weekend.

    1. Oh yes very cute MC. I was surprised too when I saw the box, it's so different to the basic boxes which I immediately discarded.
It's growing on me, and although it looks quite dark in the photos, it doesn't appear that way when you see her IRL.
      😊 You too!

  4. Congrats! Oh, Eira certainly needs friends of her own! :D. And although the eyeliner is very prominent, it makes her eyes stand out and probably lets them look brighter blue than they would look without.

    1. Thank you Mia. I see you are becoming quite the enabler, encouraging me to add more dolls is not a good thing for my pocket, but you're right, she does need friends of her own. 🀣
      Yes, you're probably right there.

  5. I'm glad that she got there quickly and that you're happy with her. She looks happy to be there. :) You're tempting to buy a few of these dolls, though.

    1. Yes very quickly Barb, I wasn't expecting her until March. Oh you would not be disappointed with these dolls, they are a great size to make clothes for too. 😊 If you didn't want to spend so much money, you could always buy a Siblie, they are smaller, but it would give you an idea of the quality of these dolls.

  6. Eira is very cute -love the outfit. The European dolls seem to be much nicer than the ones they make for the American market.

    1. Thanks Dorian, I do too (even with the Velcro). 😊 I agree with you there, the ones I have seen so far are much prettier and seem to have much better fashions.
I'm glad you made it to my blog, it's really great to see you commenting too. 😘 I hope you manage to read some of the other blogs that are linked here, they are a friendly bunch.

  7. Hello! She is adorable and so precious! I can, though, understand what you mean about her heavy eyeliner. Hope that you can find some friends to her (a very good excuse to buy some more dolls)! Congrats!
    Hugs!

    1. Hi Niina! Thank you. I think we all agree it's quite heavy, but I think Mia is right in her assumption that it has been done to emphasise her pretty blue eyes and I'm getting used to it. Hahaha! I'm sure I shall, but there is no rush. 🀣

  8. Everything about this doll surprised me, so much so I am keeping her exactly as she is. She is already dressed for our upcoming winter. 😊
The boots shouldn't be too much longer, and hopefully they get here before my next doll arrives. (Yes I am about to order another basic to complete the trio I had initially planned to have.)

  9. Oooh, she is lovely, congratulations! I love her smile, so delicate and, well, authentic. The eyeliner is a bit heavy, but thanks to that, her blue eyes are even more striking. Hugs, hugs!

    1. Thank you Chiriann. I do too, when I look at smiling dolls it puts a smile on my face too! I'm coping with the eyeliner now, thank heavens. It's funny how things can "grow on you". 😊
