Australia Post Sucks!

My little blonde Ava (Petitcollin Minouche) arrived on 3rd May and she has been sitting in her underwear ever since. Janette's Studio posted her new clothes on the 30th April, so I had been expecting them to arrive around the same time.

Well, after waiting for over a week for her little blue set to be delivered from just two suburbs away, it finally arrived today. Twice the parcel was sent from South East sorting to Narre Warren (completely in the opposite direction) and redirected back again! It wasn't until Janette's Studio contacted Australia Post on Thursday, that the parcel was eventually sorted to the correct delivery centre. Australia Post tried to blame it on the parcel not being addressed correctly and this was NOT the case, it had been clearly addressed to me.

Ava: Ah what's this I spy?

Ava: A family of butterflies!

Ava: Come to me pretty butterflies, you match the colour of my dress.

Now all I need is another little boy and this set will be complete. Hopefully Petitcollin will release a new boy soon.

  1. Stateside FedEx is our problem child. At least you got your poppet; TWO of mine got lost in the ether last year!

    1. Seems to be a common problem with all delivery systems. It wasn't my poppet that was the problem, it was her outfit. I would have been really upset if any of my dolls got lost, so I can imagine how you felt.

  2. I honestly have no idea why it was sent in the wrong direction twice as it was clearly addressed, but as you say, the little dress and hat were worth the wait and the blue shoes were a bonus gift. Thank you Linda, I'm not the best photographer, but I do like to tell a story with my pics.

  3. She looks adorable, what a cute outfit! Our postal service stinks also, I have had numerous packages delivered to the wrong address along with regular mail. Oh well it is what we have :)

  4. German parcel services can be just as annoying. Some years ago I received a doll from Switzerland, and while she reached Germany swiftly, she then was sent to and fro three times - until they found out they had made a mistake when typing the clearly written address into their system.... and last year, a rocking horse was sent all the way back to its seller, 500km, when DHL realized 20km from my home the parcel was 1cm too large! It must have grown on its way, because it had been measured when checked in.
But the result is worth the wait. She looks so sweet in that outfit! I already was considering an Ava as a little sister for my Sasha dolls. This weakens my resistance...

    1. Oh dear! How frustrating for you, I would have been very angry if that happened to me. Yes, the little blue set was worth the wait, it suits Ava perfectly. I hope you do get your own little Ava, I would like to see how they look with your Sasha's.

  5. That must have been so annoying! I like the undies, but the dress is a lot cuter :). And I hope your future deliveries (little boys, for example) will be there in a second and without any problems.

    1. Yes, but the end result was worth it Mia. I love the underwear that comes with the Minouche dolls it protects their little bodies nicely without any added bulk. Oh me too, but I have to find that little boy first. 😊

  6. Agh, I feel you! They did the same here D:
I don't know, but they are working terribly as of later!

    1. It seems there's not a month that goes by without at least one parcel delayed through AP hiccups and its not getting any better. However, it seems it's no different in other countries either M.

  7. How the post always try and blame the sender is so bad, and with covid they are using that as another excuse for delaying doing their jobs properly! I sent a doll to the US and he's sat in Chicago sorting depot for two months and as only just started moving again now!
But the set really looks sweet on her, so was worth the wait in the end. I hope they release a boy for you so your set can be complete.

    1. The more I read, the more I believe it's a common thread Dee. Must be a problem with the upper management if they cannot sort it out.

Oh I do hope so, I haven't even been able to find another little boy on the secondary market either. 😪 I will keep searching though, I need a #5 as I'm never happy with even numbers.

  8. Oooh yes, I could write a whole saga (and it would be a horror story) about Polish post, so I can understand your anger. But the most important part is that you got that stunning dress for Ava and she looks fantastic! Lovely colour and pattern, ideal for cute, little girl :)

    1. I agree Chiriann. Janette and Vicky do a great job of sourcing perfect fabrics within the scale to suit the right size doll and this fabric is so soft.

  9. If it makes you feel better, the spanish postal service sucks too. I think that's a common thing amongst many countries. They also come up with the dumbest excuses to avoid taking any accountability for their mistakes. It is beyond my understanding why they would send a parcel in the opposite direction.

Anyway, both the doll and her outfit arrived safe and sound to you. I really like the photos you took of Ava in that background. The butterflies match her outfit!

    1. It really doesn't MC, I think all postal services need a good ol' kick up the Khyber Pass! They must think we are all feeble minded if they think we are going to believe their lies, it only makes the look even more stupid!

Yes and I am so pleased with Ava. I was going to cut her hair into a bob, but am now having second thoughts. I'm pleased you like the backdrop, I have quite a few different ones which I bought years ago. I have looked at adding some new ones, but the guy I purchased my originals from no longer has his own website. This is a bummer, because he always sent them rolled in a tube. The eBay ones are folded so even when you iron them the creases don't really come out completely.

I'll try to take some photos with other ones down the track so you can check them out.

  10. It is a beautiful and cute dress and I am glad that it finally arrived. One thing is if the delivery is from far away, but nearby should not be such a difficulty. But it is the same here. Some parcels just keep on travelling round and round!
    Hugs!
