I have been searching the internet for a Petitcollin Minouche BOY and apart from Eloi, the one I already have, I haven't been able to find one for sale anywhere! It's very frustrating and I think this is because Petitcollin don't make many boys and those who have, are keeping them.
So I thought perhaps I could turn another female doll into a little boy, but the only "odd" dolls I have are my Corolle Les Cheries, a Paola Reina Las Amigas (which I purchased by mistake - when she arrived I found I already had one) and my Vestida de Azul Paulina.
Looking at them side by side, I think Paulina's head is a little too large, so I discounted her.
Height: 34cm Chest: 18.5cm Waist: 19cm Hips: 20cm
Sleeve: 15.5cm Trouser length: 16cm Shoulders: 7cm
Feet: 4.5cm x 2cm
Corolle Les Cheries Full vinyl and 4 joints, head turns
Height: 33cm Chest: 15cm Waist: 13.3 cm Hips: 18.4cm
Sleeve: ?cm Trouser length: ?cm Shoulders: ?6cm
Feet: 5cm x 2.25cm
Paola Reina Las Amigas Full vinyl and 4 joints, head turns
Height: 32cm Chest: 15cm Waist: 14 cm Hips: 19cm
Sleeve: 13cm Trouser length: 18cm Shoulders: 6cm
Feet: 5cm x 2.25cm

Then I thought about Chad from Maru & Friends, his size (listed below) would be compatable, but I'm not sure about the vinyl. If it's similar in colour to the Dianna Effner Little Darlings (which as you can see from my photo, are not skin coloured at all) I don't think I would be at all happy.

Does anyone have one of these dolls? If you do I'd love to know what his vinyl looks like in real life, as it will help me make a decision.
Of course this wouldn't be a permanant fix, I will replace him if and when I find a real Minouche boy, but he/she will do for now.
I used to have a Paola Reina boy a few years ago but stupidly sold him along with my Paola Reina girl...of course I have now since replaced the girl! You can't get the Les Cheries Corolle dolls now, I don't believe they are making them anymore, so I would be hesitant to suggest turning her into a boy. I've never seen the boy Chad before so can't advise you there unfortunately. Good luck! I look forward to finding out who you get or choose in the end.
ReplyDeleteI haven't actually seen a Paola Reina Las Amigas boy, but if I'm going to go that route I think I will modify the girl I have who's simply doing nothing but lay about. You are probably right about the Les Cheries, especially if I decide to sell her down the track. You never know she may become quite valuable in time. ๐
DeleteChad's size is actually the best fit, but I need feedback on his vinyl before I make a firm decision. For now I'm going to keep looking.

I don't have Petitcollen...but now I want one, LOL! Best of luck to you with this project.
ReplyDeleteOh you should get one RM, they are really lovely little dolls, I love mine! Thanks!

Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI ordered a mini pal Hanna to go with my little darling, and I am not too happy with the color of her vinyl. She has a gray/green cast, and I am still deciding if she will stay. The photos don't show how discolored they are. The doll is cute and I would like her if she her coloring was more normal. I am surprised at the color of you LD. The one I bought from UFDC has lovely pink/normal color. Hope this helps.
I think the Paola doll would make a cute boy and the size is pretty similar.
Dolly Hugs,
Dorian
Thanks for that info Dorian. ๐ Sounds like both the Little Darlings and the Mini Pals are from the same factory in China!! There seems to be absolutely no consistancy at all. My LD is an awful colour, especially when you put her alongside my other vinyk dolls. But strangely enough, when I photographe her on her own she looks a completely different colour...very weird!
DeleteI may try cutting the PR doll's hair over the weekend and see if she looks more masculine when I dress her in some boy clothes. I'll post photos later on.
Big hugs,

There are at least three on German ebay at the moment, but I don't know if they would interest you. Maybe you could buy a Paola Reina boy and swap heads?
ReplyDeleteThey don't come up at all on my eBay, but I did check the link you gave me and when you convert the Euro they are a little steep in price and they don't accept PayPal, only bank transfers and that's a big no no!
DeleteMmm that's a thought, thanks for the heads up. ๐

I don't own any of those dolls, but I've just remembered that Imaginarium (Spanish toy store) used to sell Paola Reina dolls, but under another name. Probably you don't have Imaginarium in your area, but I was just thinking that maybe you could find a suitable doll at a toy store, or even one of those brands also sells under another name. I'm not sure if this is very helpful, so I hope someone can offer you better information.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.
No MC, we don't, but it's a great name for a store! ๐ Unfortunately the toy stores here only sell the Petitcollin baby dolls, not the 34cm Minouche. Don't worry I'll sort myself out eventually.
DeleteI hope you have a lovely weekend too!
Big hugs,

I think for now that's what I'll do Linda. Perhaps that's why my LD looks okay when I photograph her on her own. ๐ Thanks, I hope so too.

Don't really know much about these dolls, but when I looked at them lined up in the photo above, I thought the Amigas would make the cutest boy... don't know if this helps!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the fun of blogging...we never know what new dolls we are going to discover! I have learnt so much about dolls I had never heard of before from girls all around the world, and I enjoy reading about them all eventhough I will probably never own most of them.
DeleteIt looks like the Amigas girl is the most likely filler in doll until I can find another Minouche boy. ๐
Big hugs,

Good luck with the search and the project! Sadly, I don't have these dolls, so I can't help you in any way :(
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Chiriann, I've made my choice which will do for now, but the search for a Minouche boy continues.

Hope that you find a Minouche boy somewhere. Have you looked at Etsy? Or similar places. Good luck with the search!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Me too, I have looked on Etsy but no luck there either. I'll keep looking.
