Ideas have been tossing about in my head as to what I could do with the 8ply wool that's been sitting in my basket for some time. There was a tiny bit of white, a slightly larger ball of lemon and almost a full ball of grey. So I began working with the white from the bottom up and completed this off the shoulder dress for Avery.
I also crochet the little flowers and stuck them to some hair slides with PVA glue and added the little pearl centres. They are not perfect, but they'll do for now.
Hope you all had a productive week and are looking forward to a lovely weekend!
Very cute, and the flowers in her hair make it complete. I like how the straight line of her haircut and the stripes complement each other. Oh, I know the feeling- how many times I wished I had made notes..
ReplyDeleteThanks Mia, I'm thinking of using this colour combination again down the track, I was pleased how the colours combined. I don't know how many times I've got carried away knitting and completely forgotten to note things down, when I'm finished I could kick myself! π
DeleteShe looks very sweet in her new dress. I love using up odd balls of wool.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will remember the pattern if you want to make another.
Hugs Dee
Thank you Dee, she's very happy with it, but wants a corsage for her wrist now. π
DeleteDoll clothes a great way to use them up, especially as my hoarding nature won't let me simply throw them away. I hope so, not that I want to make it in exactly the same colours.
Big hugs,
X
This looks lovely! I like the combination of the grey and the light yellow. Your doll looks lovely in it. I've spent most of my week studying and arranging stuff at home, so I would say it has been productive.
ReplyDeleteThank you MC, I do too, it combines much better than I thought it would. That's good, it always feels so satisfying when you can see results from a productive week. π

You certainly can do it again! And how boring to make exactly the same dress twice...
ReplyDeleteTo me, the little flowers look quite close to perfect. Very smart look!
Thanks for your confidence Uschi, oh don't worry it won't be exactly the same. I'm pleased you think so, to me I never do anything perfect, but they are acceptable. π

Avery's dress came together really nicely. Did you knit it in the round?
ReplyDeleteThank you Barb, it was really easy to knit. Sometime I have to back step and pull rows undone, but this seemed to just fall into place. No, just on two 3.25mm long kneedles, I find that easier when I'm making it up as I go. It buttons up all the way down the back.

Oh you are so sweet Linda, thank you. I don't know why, but I've never really thought of combining those colours before, my first thoughts would have been pink and grey. Have you ever begun writing note, stopped half way through, then found them later to have no idea what the notes mean? I have and it's the most frustrating thing! I shall look forward to seeing Holly in her new dress.
ReplyDeleteOh you poor thing, I feel for you, I had the AZ and after the first I felt awful, but felt nothing but fine after the seceond. Hubby had nothing after the second either. I'm pleased you're both okay now, what shot did you have?
Big hugs,

That's an interesting fact to know about the Pfizer, we hadn't heard much about the after effects of receiving it. I believe it depends on how strong your immune system is, but I'm not a doctor so don't quote me. π
ReplyDeleteI love the flowers in her hair, made the dress complete. The colors are lovely! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Niina, I think they do too. π

I would never though that yellow and gray can make such a summery-holidayish combination! The dress is really cute and perfect for the vacation (in maybe not-so-scorching place ;)). The flowers are great final touch.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's good to have limited wool to work with, as it was here. I rather like this colour combination, so I may use it again. Of course I agree, perhaps better for dining outdoors on a nice warm evening. π Thank you Chiriann.
