Sorry it's been so long between posts, I have been really busy working on current & new dioramas. One of the new dioramas is going to be done with two different versions and will incorporate these fabrics, which I have ordered from Spoonflower.
The fabric above has been ordered as a Crepe de Chine, which will be used for curtains in the first version.
The one below has been ordered as Cotton Lawn, but until it arrives and I can actually see the scale of the design I'm unsure of how it will be incorporated, but it will be used in the second version.
Again, all these sneak peaks made me soooo curious! :)
ReplyDeleteYou have to be careful with curiosity Joanna, you don't know where it will lead you. :)

Beautiful fabrics for your dioramas! I am already waiting for your photos. I think that in these photos there will be cute dolls in beautiful dresses. Maybe these dolls will be holding soft toys or other accessories? I really like dioramas and dolls, and I often take pictures of my dolls in different locations. It truly brings me joy. Looking forward to seeing your creations!
ReplyDeleteNot sure about beautiful dresses Inesa, but curtains yes and cushions maybe. :) I cannot seem to get past the décor at present, but perhaps when the dioramas are finished I can begin to sew dresses for my dolls again. Thank you for your kind comments.

Speaking of Spoonflower, have you thought about designing your own fabrics? I'm learning how to create a vector repeat pattern. It's a little slow going because I never studied designing, but I'm making progress.
ReplyDeleteI had Barb, but they have so many beautiful designs there to choose from, I cannot justify the time to design fabric myself. You know me, far too impatient. :) I'm glad you are having a go though, don't forget to share when your done.

The fabrics look amazing. Can't wait to see how you use them. I'm getting a 50s/60s vibe? That egg chair is one I have. I think mine came with one of my Poppy Parkers. They are cool chairs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alasse. You are right on the money!! The chair is an Eero Aarnio Ball Chair in 1:6 scale and yes, it could be ordered with Poppy Parker British Invasion from The Swinging London Collection 2017.

Oh, I love retro furniture! I love the fabric with the puppies print, it's very cute. Looking forward to seeing your new diorama.
ReplyDeleteMe too MC. I've been wanting to re-use this furniture in a new diorama as I wasn't happy using the old one I made four years ago. The puppy print is a good find as it incorporates a little fun with the retro vibe. Thank you. :)
