Taking a Stand

After much thought about my collection, I've decided to shed a most of my Spanish made dolls. To begin with I plan on moving almost all of my Paola Reina dolls, except for the articulated ones. As well as my two Vidal Rogas, two Vestida de Azul and two D'nenes.

This will allow me not to feel guilty about pre-ordering this little one.

Her name is Paula (Wichtel Bubi face RM 7.0), but I really do not like that name as it reminds me of someone I am not at all fond of. I haven't decided what I will call her and will most probably wait until she arrives (later this month or early next month) to see what she has to say about her name.

Isn't she just the cutest little doll? As most of you already know, I am always drawn to dolls that show their tiny teeth. Of course she will bring my Wichtels back to an even number so I shall be looking to add another down the track, BUT NOT BEFORE I HAVE SOME ADOPTED TO LOVING HOMES.

  1. The name "Paula" means "small and humble." Maybe pick something with the same meaning? She's a unique-looking little doll. I would offer to take some of your girls off your hands, but I'm trying to downsize meself. Some of my American Girls and all of my not-so-special porcelain dolls are gonna have to go (the special ones are staying). This pet is wicked cute, though! You need her.

    1. Not a bad suggestion RM, but I think she will tell me what she wants too be called once she gets here. It's often a difficult choice who to let go, but this time I didn't have any hesitation. I wish you luck with yours.
Oh yes, I agree totally. 😁
      Big hugs,

  2. Well she is a cutie, so I'm not surprised she's on her way.
I think the second hand doll market is a service, because it allows others to get dolls they may have missed or not realised they wanted and that may no longer be available and allows the sellers to enjoy welcoming a new doll.
Good luck with the sales :)

    1. I' also ordered Frieda today, but I'll have to stop now. At least until I've sent some of mine to new homes. I agree with you, and it works for us too.

  3. Oh, another Wichtel :). I think Paula sounds too mature for her tiny little face, I am sure you'll find a better name for her.

  4. She is adorable, and I love her details. Measuring around the edge of my My Child doll's rooted hair, I came up with around 32cm, or 12.5" I hope that was the correct way to measure it. From what I remember from wigs that I have purchased, it is.

I did try to email you a while ago, but maybe it didn't go through. I was at a thrift store (charity shop, op shop) a month or so ago, and found a Pullen pleater with needles and all, for $3.99!!!!
