Mickey Mouse Dress

Been a little busy the past few days, not much sewing and knitting going on here and very little dolly time, as we are painting our entertainment room. Firstly, I had to remove all the wall paper, what a job, I am just glad I had a steamer. We also decided to put up some Regency panelling over the brickwork on the back wall, which will make the room more in keeping with the rest of the renovations we have already completed.

However, I did manage to design and complete this little Mickey Mouse dress in LittleFee size. It has a Mickey Mouse belt buckle and I am thinking I may do a matching headband with ears (if I can). I have cut out the pattern pieces in the same fabric for two more, but I will finish one with red trim and the other with yellow.

I also made her necklace and took another blogging buddy's advice to experiment a little with this photography session.

I think the photos turned out well (for me), what do you think?

  1. Hi Xanadu! The dress is so gorgeous :-)! The belt is a perfect detail. It's a great photo shoot, I like every picture. The pram, bear and backdrop are amazing! I love the different poses you gave the little bear mommy too :-)! Hugs xx

    1. Thank you so much Janina. I don't know about having talent, but I have had many years of sewing experience and really enjoy the design process so I guess it all adds up. :)

    1. Hi Alejandra! I think she (LF Bisou) is my favourite FL sculpt after Ante. and everything seems to look wonderful one her. It was a bit of a fluke finding the belt buckles to match. Thanks for the encouragement. :)

    1. Thank you Lily, I feel I am finally getting somewhere with my photography now. I will keep practicing and experimenting though, as I am nowhere near the standard I aspire to.

  6. This is really cute. I love the buckle and the fabric. I actually got to go to Disneyland with my kids on a trip back from Australia four years ago, so yes, we are Disney fans too.

    1. Thanks Sam and Isabelle,
The fabric is a bit different to what I would usually buy, but it caught my eye while we were on our last holiday, you know, the one where I did all the fabric shops! :)

    1. Thanks Heather, yeah it didn't turn out too bad. :)

I think my photography is finally improving. I still need to push the boundaries though, to make sure they are fresh and interesting for other people to enjoy looking at them.

    1. Thanks Alasse. I think she has a very expressive face which helps with the overall appeal.

Yes, it is. I don't often get the chance to get out and about to take great outdoor shots, so I have a few of them now and am thinking of ordering a few more. They are also great for when the weather isn't the best.

  10. The dress is lovely and has blue, my fave colour, lol.

Experimenting is a great thing to do and you've done a good job. Just one advice, try not to show or avoid shadows in the back like in the last photo when you use backdrops. I see lighting is difficult for everybody XD

    1. Hi Lily,
Thank you for the tip. I did see the shadow, but have limited space right now for back lighting. Need to clear out some junk I think. :)
