Found Pictures

I wanted to learn more about the dolls I was about to receive, so I went browsing and found there has been three separate releases of the Experiment Project Mc2 dolls so far. From the photos, it appears I purchased four dolls from the 1st release, one from the second release and a mixture of clothes from both 1st & 2nd.

1st Release

2nd Release

3rd Release

My parcel arrived this morning, very fast shipping considering yesterday was a holiday here in Melbourne. Four of the dolls have painted panties, the fifth has skin-tone panties. Three have flat feet, the other two high heeled feet. None of them will stand unaided. Though I did find some of my tiny shoes, from Blythe and PukiFee fit them, so will show them later when I re-dress them.

I am really happy with their inset eyes and lashes, they are much nicer than I was expecting. Their face-ups are unblemished and the colours are lovely.

Can't quite figure out what they are made of exactly, but the body does feel different to the limbs and the heads are matt whereas their bodies are a little shiny. I think I shall have to rely on the doll experts opinion here.

Jointing is not too bad on most and they hold a pose reasonably well, though McKeyla's & Bryden's left knee and Adrienne's & Camryn's right knee just drops when in the seated position (legs straight out).

Some of the dolls had elastic bands in their hair, which I removed and used my Gotz doll hairbrush to attended to the slightly tangled hair on each doll. I was pleased at how easy it was to run the brush, and then a comb through. The one with the most frizz was Bryden's, which, as it had originally been tightly curled, came as no surprise. It will be interesting to see how it comes up after the spa.

Overall, I am happy with these dolls, although they are no way near as hefty as my BJD or vinyl play dolls, they still feel comfortable in my hands and will probably be keepers.

That's it for today, I'm off to play!
Hugs,
X

P.S. After I washed and conditioned Bryden's hair, it was looking much better. Now it's in rollers. :)

    1. Do you really think so Joanna, thank you, I think they look a little exposed. Hahaha! Actually, I do admit to feeling a little apprehensive when I first paid for them. I wasn't sure if I would like them when I saw them IRL, but they are much nicer than I expected.

  3. I love seeing doll spa photos, before and afters too! can't wait to see your dolls ready and styled! They look very pretty! I don't think I've seen these here in stores, but I was surprised to find the made to move curvy barbie! thought we wouldn't get her haha. If I could put a Momoko head on that body, that would be neat, but since I can't I didn't get her. I still keep an eye on the toys section, you never know what you might find.

    1. Oh me too Alejandra, photos of any doll makeovers are great. I hadn't even heard of them until I saw them on BblinkK's flickr. But there are probably many undiscovered dolls out there that I am yet to discover. :)
Have you searched to see if it is possible to put a Momoko head on a curvy Barbie? I'd love to see one done, it would look pretty good I bet.

  5. I'm glad you liked them. You got quite a few which is neat. The inset eyes are really quite lovely in these dolls. Can they stand with shoes? The different hair colours on them are great! How did Bryden's hair go after you took out the rollers?

    1. Hi Alasse! Yes and I'm glad I did, but my brain has been working overtime with a new idea for these girls. They can with some shoes, but they are not the best as I think they are a little head heavy. :) Bryden's hair is much better, but still a little fly away, I think she may need some Dollfie Water Wax.

Oh, you're getting into fashion dolls! These ones are really cute, I've seen some of them in shops that are just lovely, thought I don't have any. I'm curious to see what you do next with them after the spa.

    1. Hi Lily,
No not really getting into, just added these because I found them interesting...well enough to purchase them for the bargain price, I don't think I would pay full price for them though.
I'll post more photos of them when they are all dressed and looking pretty.
