Well she's finally finished.
According to the story Pippi is dressed in a blue dress with red patches, all because she ran out of blue fabric. Realistically if you ran out of fabric, you would not add patches to a completed dress, you would simply cut the parts where you were short in a different fabric.
So that is exactly what I have done with my Pippi's dress. :)
Instead of patches, she has an odd red strap and a patch pocket.
It's a beautiful day here in Melbourne, the sun is shining and there's very little wind, so I'm off to enjoy it and perhaps take a few dolly photos. I hope you are all enjoying a relaxing weekend too!
Big hugs,

I LOVE your take on the dress, it looks very unique and very Pippi. The braids are eprfect and she looks adorable.
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying your day! Mine hasn't been relaxing yet, but it has been interesting haha :D now relax time begins!
Thank you Alejandra, yes I am. The sun is shining again . . . two days in a row WOW!! I hope that means summer is almost here. :) Enjoy yours!

Oh she looks really great! Very adorable and cute and I really love your interpretation of her outfit. The little red pocket is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alasse, I am so glad you do. I thought about doing patches like it said in the book, but it didn't make sense to do it any other way than the way I did it. :)

I really like what you've made her, and how you've put your Pippi together. She's already a cute little girl, with a sweet and cheeky face, and the dress is just perfect for her, along with the boots and stockings.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day, it was a beautiful day here today too :)
Big hugs xx
Thank you, it's a pretty simple dress Sharon, just made out of strips of fabric, but it seemed to suit her (and I think Pippi's own sewing capabilities), I so am pleased you like it. :)
DeleteThe weather has been even warmer today, so I am glowing!! LOL!
