Well for such a long time now I have been very good and not purchased any dolls . . . can you believe it? Yes, it's been SIX MONTHS! I didn't cave in once, not even when being tempted by Sharon. I was feeling so proud of myself, then . . . I saw the recent photo of Alejandra's CCS girl 17SS Ruruko (2017) and it was all too much, I could resist no longer.
However, when I saw how expensive she was (once her price was converted to AU$'s) I thought of Christmas and resisted. But wouldn't you know it, it was too late, I had been bitten by the bug and couldn't help myself and so the search for Ruruko began
.
AND GUESS WHAT??? I found her (on sale), she was one I could afford without breaking the bank . . . she's perhaps not quite as pretty as Alejandra's, but I really adore her wardrobe and I think she will do nicely . . . very nicely indeed.

Big Hugs,
X
Oh how exciting!! I'm glad you could find one for sale, that means it was meant to be! And why do you say she's not as pretty as mine? she's stunning. I love her ponytail and I feel her hair color is exactly the same as mine?
ReplyDeleteHer clothes are very pretty too, she will do nicely in your collection. Can't wait to see!! I think the shoes are the same as mine too but in white instead of green :) oh I really like your girl! I still prefer mine, but that's only because when I saw her it was love at first sight and I was mad enough to pay full pre order price LMAO
I haven't bought a doll since ruruko in may last year, and I was really tempted by a pure neemo this week, but I just couldn't afford it :(
Maybe next year
Alejandra her eye and skin colour is the same as yours but the hair colours are different . . . yours is dark ash blonde and mine is platinum white. I am so excited to see what she's like IRL as I haven't actually held one before. I was wondering if Blythe clothes will fit her as her body size/shape looks similar . . . guess I will have to wait and see.😉
DeleteBig hugs,
X
ops I meant eye color hahaha. She might be too small for blythe clothes but I've never had a blythe. Ruruko uses pure neemo XS body, she's very slim and petite! I'm sure you'll love her. Petworks quality is really nice. I ADORE the outfit yours come with :)
DeleteSomeday I'll get kimonos for my girls~
All okay, we all slip ups, it's easy to do when your brain is in one place and fingers are elsewhere. LOL! I will try some of my Blythe's clothes on her when she arrives and post pics, then we will all know for future reference. :)
DeleteHello Sandy,
ReplyDeleteShe is stunning. I am so glad you found her on sale. Bad would not have waited to find her on sale...bad would not have resisted for that long. If anything, it would have been a shame to miss out on her on sale.
Big hug
Giac
Hi Giac! Good to see you out and about again. :) I'm pleased you think so and thank you for not thinking I'm a bad girl for buying her.
DeleteBig hugs,
X
Should I say welcome to the dark side of Petworks dolls? She is a very pretty doll and I can understand why her face would have tempted you. I still haven't bought one of these dolls. The only one I wanted sold out within minutes so sadly I missed out on her. She was a redhead with freckles. But yes, the price (after conversion) makes me blanch a bit too. I will look forward to seeing her on your blog and hearing your thoughts on what you think of this new line of dolls you have added to your wonderful collection.
ReplyDeleteBesides, it's almost Christmas so treating yourself is A-OK in my books.
Oh dear, don't tell me there is a dark side to this single purchase??? LOL! I've already looked at a couple of others, but they will have to wait till after Christmas. I heard from Liz, my Lunette which I ordered so long ago, is getting her face painted now, so I'll have the balance to pay for her very soon along with shipping. UGH! However, I will be glad to finally have her. :)
DeleteYou have some Momoko dolls don't you? What do you think of them?
Big hugs,
X
Oh that is great news on your Lunette. Fingers crossed for you that she will arrive before Christmas.
DeleteThe Momoko dolls I'll be honest, they feel very fragile to me compared to my other fashion dolls. Posing for them takes a bit of fiddling and getting used to. I don't really find them as easy to pose as my other dolls. They are much smaller than Barbie size. They look small and petite next to my Fashion Royalty girls. Their faces are sweet though and the fashion is always well made BUT, they do stain easily. One of my girls has black stains on her feet due to the black socks that was part of her default outfit. I do know the Momoko dolls used to be made by Petworks too but they changed hands in 2004 to Sekiguchi who now produces them in a mass market format and they are more affordable then when they were being produced by Petworks. I have a link to the line up of Momokodolls produced since 2005 here if you're interested: http://www.momokodoll.com/lineup/index.php
Overall I would say they are different to other fashion dolls, very lightweight and they are perfect for carrying around with you and taking places. I'm very particular about which ones I buy. The
CCS and Today's Momoko doll lines are made by Petworks though which is why those ones are a lot more expensive. Plus they tend to be special editions that you can't get again if they sell out and some sell out super fast.
That was probably way more info than you wanted!
No that was great Alasse, I needed a little guidance as I know very little about fashion dolls. Thanks for everything and also the link, I'll check it out tonight. :)
DeleteShe is so cute. I really understand why you couldn't resist and invite her home :) I love her hair color and her clothes. She is so adorable. Congratulations and I can't wait to see her pictures when she arrives your home :)
ReplyDeleteThank you BB, I hope the wait for shipping is not too long, I am anxious to hold her. :)
DeleteHugs,
X
Hello! I am so happy that you found a Ruruko! Such a pretty one too, I hope you enjoy her! I do like the hair color combined with her eyes! Look forward to seeing more, when she arrives!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Thank you Niina, she is pretty isn't she. At first I was a little disappointed I couldn't afford the one Alejandra has, but this cutie pie has grown on me. Each time I look at her, I feel glad I bought her. Do you have one of these dolls?
DeleteBig Hugs,
X
You was so brave to resist for so long. How did you do that?! :D
ReplyDeleteNew girl is adorable, no wonder you wanted her so much. I hope she will bring you great joy. :)
Thank you Joanna, it wasn't easy I assure you, I just had to stop myself from looking in the first place, but seeing other bloggers receiving new dolls was the hardest thing of all, I was on the edge of temptation.
DeleteI hope so too, but I also hope she won't lead me astray and ask for siblings. :)
Big hugs,
X
Ooooops!!! All that hard work I did in trying to tempt you and then you buy something else!!! LOL good for you. Actually I was also tempted by these dolls after having seen them on someone else's blog and on BblinkK's flickr account, they are so cute and the clothes they come in are really pretty and very realistic. So far though I have not succumbed but I have been watching some on Ebay as there is a Spanish shop that sells them! LOL....but I'm trying really hard to resist.
ReplyDeleteI like your girl and her outfit is very nice too....I look forward to seeing more of her here on your blog.
xx
Ha ha ha! You did a pretty good job of it too! Fortunately for my bank balance the doll I liked was not in stock, Sandra had sold out!
DeleteYes, I saw there was a Spanish shop that sell Rurukos, you really should join me and indulge yourself (AGAIN!) there are some pretty ones with lovely costumes. I will take a look at BblinkK's flickr account, thanks for informing me about it.
Big hugs,
X
I've never heard of this doll line before, but I can see why you couldn't resist! She's a beauty for sure. Her face is so sweet and her outfit looks so detailed and lovely! I'm going to resist finding out any more info about these dolls because I don't want to get sucked in!! :) I think it's absolutely wonderful to treat yourself. :) xo
ReplyDeleteHi Farrah,
DeleteSeems we are all discovering new dolls every day. :) Now she's home, I am pleased I bought her, but don't think I will add more of this type of doll...but then I have learnt one should never say never. LOL!
Big hugs,
X
Ohh I saw the posts backwards, and I read the arrival first! So congrats anyways, because she is adorable!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Don't worry I often do things backwards. :)
