New and Updated Furniture

I've been on a painting roll lately and after I finished with my kitchen, I found a bookcase which needed a coat of paint. I used another couple of the Porter's sample pots, Gulf Stream and Volcanic Ash to paint it.

Hatsuko liked the Gulf Stream colour so much she thought it would be a suitable colour to update the daybed.

They turned out better than I expected and suit the "Paris Apartment" diorama rather well.

Ugh! Now she's wondering what else she can get me to paint. With any luck she won't see the other pieces I have hidden away.

At last she's settled down with a good book! I think Alice in Wonderland should keep her occupied for a while, I hope so.

Well that didn't last long!  Perhaps she'll enjoy a little dolly time of her own now and let me get on with other things. :)

Christmas Came Early at Our House

My tiny dolls have very little patience, I think they take after me! LOL! So when some of them saw the presents under the tree this morning, they thought Santa had come early and NOW was the right time for them to open all of their presents. Fortunately, I managed to stop them before they opened the lot. I told them they could each open just one present and the rest will have to stay under the tree until the proper day. :)

From left to right: 8 " porcelain Dianna Effner doll, Fairyland Puki Fee, PetWORKs Ruruko, 7" Helen Kish Riley.

I shall be back before the New Year with this year's roundup. In the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas with your families. I hope you all receive what you wished for.
Big hugs,

Unboxing Ruruko

Late, but better late than never! Ruruko arrived Monday 12th November and it was a quick unboxing . . . the thing that took the longest to unwrap was her tightly cling wrapped arms! She was renamed Hatsuko (First Born) long before she arrived, and although I really love her, I can't quite get over how tiny she is.

I couldn't manage to put her shoes on over the stockings, so I replaced them with a pair I already had (borrowed from my PukiFees), and her hair accessory would not stay in place no matter how I tried to tie it. There must be a way for her to wear it, but it wasn't going to work for me today.

Her hair is really fine and a little crooked on the left side of her face, but I will neaten that when I have more time to play with her. The clothes are beautifully made, but still have Velcro . . . my pet hate, so will make her something else to wear down the track.

Have a wonderful dolly weekend.

Good Girl Gone Bad

Well for such a long time now I have been very good and not purchased any dolls . . . can you believe it? Yes, it's been SIX MONTHS! I didn't cave in once, not even when being tempted by Sharon. I was feeling so proud of myself, then . . . I saw the recent photo of Alejandra's CCS girl 17SS Ruruko (2017) and it was all too much, I could resist no longer.

However, when I saw how expensive she was (once her price was converted to AU$'s) I thought of Christmas and resisted. But wouldn't you know it, it was too late, I had been bitten by the bug and couldn't help myself and so the search for Ruruko began
.
AND GUESS WHAT??? I found her (on sale), she was one I could afford without breaking the bank . . . she's perhaps not quite as pretty as Alejandra's, but I really adore her wardrobe and I think she will do nicely . . . very nicely indeed.
