Late, but better late than never! Ruruko arrived Monday 12th November and it was a quick unboxing . . . the thing that took the longest to unwrap was her tightly cling wrapped arms! She was renamed Hatsuko (First Born) long before she arrived, and although I really love her, I can't quite get over how tiny she is.
I couldn't manage to put her shoes on over the stockings, so I replaced them with a pair I already had (borrowed from my PukiFees), and her hair accessory would not stay in place no matter how I tried to tie it. There must be a way for her to wear it, but it wasn't going to work for me today.
Her hair is really fine and a little crooked on the left side of her face, but I will neaten that when I have more time to play with her. The clothes are beautifully made, but still have Velcro . . . my pet hate, so will make her something else to wear down the track.
Have a wonderful dolly weekend.
Big Hugs,

Funny that I should read your post today because I've just been looking at these girls on Ebay! Yes, just looking :) I really don't want to go down yet another slippery slope because I think these would invite their friends in and soon I'd be overrun with them like I already am now with vinyl dolls.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, this little girl looks very cute but yes, she looks tiny and 'delicate' or probably the better word might be 'petite'. I thought the clothes always looked well made, shame about the velcro though, but maybe you could change that to snaps when you have time, if you wanted to go to the bother.
I look forward to seeing what you make for her to change into though :)
Big hugs Sharon xx
I understand where you're coming from Sharon, I am very aware I could have set myself a trap, but hopefully I can abstain from bringing her friends home. :)
DeleteNice thought that, but one thing I dislike almost as much as Velcro is unpicking stitches, mostly because it's tedious work and secondly because half the time I can't see the beastly things!
I shall probably make something simple that she can wear with some of May's cardigans that I purchased for the Blythes I no longer own. I'm not really in the mood, with Christmas looming, for working with a detailed pattern. I'm really feeling plain ol' lazy.

Congrats on getting on her! She has a lovely adorable face. I love the blushing on her cheeks and her lip colour. I'm surprised to hear about the velcro on the clothing. Particularly given the cost of these dolls. The momoko girls don't have any velcro, well at least the ones I have don't. She will be a great doll to travel with given her lighter weight and easier storage!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alasse. :) It was the face that sold me on this doll, she is really quite becoming. Yes, I wasn't really expecting to see that on these clothes, but I agree she will definitely be easy to transport, even just sitting in my pocket.

I'm a tiny bit jealous! I love Ruruko and this one is adorable! I hope you enjoy her!
ReplyDeleteHi Rachael!
DeleteShe is quite that and I will enjoy her alright. I have a couple of other tiny dolls that she can befriend, so she shan't be lonely. :)

Congrats!! I was looking forward to see her arrival! She's tiny indeed, but I hope you will love her. If her shoes are plastic, like mine or momoko's, they usually have a cut on the back to open them up a bit to put them on. Her feet can fall from the leg, since it's a normal thing on pure neemo bodies apparently, so I think this cutie can handle a bit more pressure than you think she can.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised the hair came a bit crooked, first thing I noticed on mine was how perfectly the hair was put on her head, unlike pure neemos.
And about the velcro, I know Alasse said none of her momokos came with it, but I'm pretty sure my lade long legs shirt has velcro. I don't think my white ruruko dress has it though. In any case I'M IN LOVE with your girl's clothes so I hope you give them a chance. If not, I'm sure you will make cute things for her in the future.
Love the red cheeks!! She's a cutie! Congrats!
Thanks Alejandra, I do love her already and she's definitely a keeper. Yes I saw the slits, but they still wouldn't fit over her stockings, but I'm not fussed because I had the others that fitted nicely. Her hair was only a little bit crooked so a tiny snip with the scissors will soon sort that out. :)
DeleteI'm actually looking forward to making her some costumes, but probably not till after Christmas.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting her she is adorable!
Thanks Musume, I think her outfit would be easy enough for you to tackle, and you always have your mum there to help if you need it. :)

I've just been pining after a Ruruko too! And this girl was one of my options for sure! I'm so glad you got her, her hair and face are so cute, and I'm sure you'll redress her into something lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Irene, good to hear from you. She is a very pretty girl and if you are pining for one you should definitely bring a Ruruko home. :) Thank you.
