Reminiscing

Going through my old photos recently, I came across these photos of my "Silver Screen" series of whimsical bears. At the time (long ago, in another creative world ) I fully intended to design and sew a couple more . . . I had even done rough sketches and selected the fabrics. But, as is often the case, circumstances led me down another path and so they were put aside.

All three were purchased by a collector in Florida.

I never did finish Zsa Zsa Gabear and Carmen Bearanda . . . maybe one day I'll be compelled to conjure up these two colourful critters.

“You don't know what can happen tomorrow. Life is like a novel, isn't it? It's filled with suspense. You never know what's going to happen until you turn the page.”  Sidney Sheldon

  1. So cute :)! It's a bit of a shame that you didn't continue this series (Zsa Zsa Gabear would be fabulous, I'm sure of it!), but... maybe one day...;)?

    1. Hi Chiriann,
Thank you. I think after 16 years of creating bears, I was completely burnt out.You never know, maybe I will one day.

  3. I've always liked seeing your bears. You always make the designs so interesting and different to each other.

    1. Well I have always enjoyed designing them Alasse. I like classic teddy bears, but it's much more fun to experiment and make quirky ones. Besides making a bear over and over again from the same pattern is boring.
